Meg, Boz, Bamabelle,
Sounds like you are going in an RV this year. If we are camped together, which is my plan, I am bringing my generator - Honda 3000i. I do not know if you have one in the RV, but if you don't, I'll bring mine to share. It is very quiet. I got compliments last year from people who were amazing how quiet it was. I'll only need to have a little electricity at night.
I bought an RV pass and companion vehicle, but since my vehicle is not an RV per se, I'll have a companion vehicle pass that we can use to bring in another vehicle. My vehicle will look more like something that is ready for an African Safari.
I'll have no need for it, so think about how best we can utilize it.
[EDIT: I am not sure why I put this thread in this area - duh, sorry mod's]
LOL! I'm sure they will move it to That Tent or where ever it needs to be.....eventually....
I'm sure the RV we rented has a built-in generator, but it costs to run it, but the rates I saw were very reasonable, since you only have to run the generator to power the AC/microwave etc. The refrigerator/stove etc run off propane I believe. I bought an RV + companion as well - our thinking was to use the companion as the pack mule car AND (Meg and I being the worriers/moms/realists we are : wanted to have a fall back plan for emergencies in case one of the kids got sick or something so that EVERYONE didn't have to bail - LOL! So we should have plenty of room. Course I ALWAYS think that then I ALWAYS end up using every square INCH of space! ;D
What we CAN think about is how best to utilize BIG tarps and ez-ups et al to built a mini taj-maTarp in our space....sounds like with the RV, generators and companions we may actually have a crewe with us potentially. I know we have another friend of Meggie coming along with us in the RV and another one potentially camping outside the RV in the space with us...and still space for at least one more in the RV with us! ;D *coughCHICO/BUNNYcough* But we gots time AND BamaRoo to plan and coordinate! ;D
Well - we have two 10 x 10 EZ ups that we are bringing and tons of tarps, bungee cords and zip ties. Just got an awesome portable iPod dock speaker set up that rocks. I have one square table to bring.
We need to start a list of who has what so that we can figure all this out
LOL! But of course the planning is the fun part! ;D
If the asshat ex didn't take it I have a REALLY big long folding table...I'll have to check on that....and tons of throws and rugs....a couple of decent sized tarps....and tons of extra sheets and towels and pots and pans and such which is why I told Meg not to get any of that shiz with the RV.....we'll stock up here. And those cheap multi-colored solar lights I ordered for the campsite LAST year finally came in so I have those and the solar TIKI torch from last year - you know how important lighting and decor are! ;D
Hmmm....I'll have to think about that one.....the RV will have a ladder on the back so we should be able to rig something to that fairly easily without an elaborate flag pole......probably just something simple made out of PVC.....
And as for the actual flag....you KNOW I am not the creative one...at least artistically. We can always blow up one of those pix of Chris Robinson I took at VooDoo last year and turn one of those into a flag! Especially if our pleas are heard and we get the Crowes this year! ;D

That would work for me - you know that - LOL
can't do Boz/Troo 08 - that is gone. I'll try to think - if all else fails - I'll just tye dye a pillow case in neon colors - LOL

For the flag pole, it can be attached with 2 or three hose clamps. It will stay secure, and can accommodate whatever shape the ladder is. Sunday June 14th is actually Flag Day.
I'll be bringing christmas lights to string up. They are nice because they do not emit enough light to attract insects, but they provide light all around an area.
I do not know if I'll be able to bring my 15" fan, but that would be a good thing to have outside. Just to have air or in the case of TN/southeast gaseous water that you guys consider air down there moving. It was nice to have with me last year.
Since we will have generator power we can bring cheap box fans for outside and just store them inside the RV when no one is at camp....that will keep things cool outside and even WITH AC...we'll still most likely spend MOST of our time (other than sleeping) outside when at camp as long as we have shade....at least that has been my experience....just pop into the AC long enough to cool off and use the facilities - LOL!
Oh and the Christmas Lights are a GREAT idea! I was thinking of trying to find some LED ones that are battery operated....that would be even less hassle!
WhoooHooo! Just ordered 3 strands of LED Battery Powered Christmas lights ON SALE for our camp site! Hee! I LUV after Christmas sales! Too bad they only had Green...hey..it's not easy being green ...LOL!But they'll work as good as any...and with FREE SHIPPING and NO SALES TAX....I wasn't going to complain about the color! Hahahaha!! ;D
Well...you KNOW all ya gots to do is say the word....the BamaRoo shuttle is sitting on ready to come get ya at the Nashvegas OR HSV OR BHAM airport! LOL! And you already have space reserved in the RV if you want...or if you prefer to just camp out on your own we'll have plenty of space around the RV....and you can just ship all your stuff here ahead of time and not worry about it! We have a companion car pass so we'll have TONS of room for whateva!

Ladies, Don't worry about battery powered lights. We've got an outside generator for those creature comforts. I ran the generator 20+ hours a day last year.
How much gas does the generator burn on average Todd? I know they are pretty efficient these days....so we should be good just filling up right before we go into the festie...I know we only use about a quarter of a tank of gas on the generator the 4 days we were there in 2007 running the generator all we wanted....

The generator used about 10-12 gallons for the four days overall. I think I brought in 15 gallons - a little more expensive last year when gas was so profitable to the oil companies.
Organization, naw, we just are keeping our Bonnaroo interest high. In a few weeks, days, or perhaps hours, we'll be off in the drunkramblingthreaddiscussingwhoknowswhat.
sounds like someone is planning a party.. can i come to this party??? will there be live music??? will there be cold liquor??? can i see naked people??? and will there be freaky people??? i want to go please invite me...
This word also has a underground meaning once you break it down. Let’s take “Bonn” for example and it actually turns into the word “Bone”. We all know gays use this word to describe the action of when they are fecal fisting their Cuban cabana boy at their sex bath house parties. Now let’s look at Roo, “Roo” is short for “Kangaroo”.So put the full true message together and you get“Bone a Kangaroo
