I've got a ticket for my third Bonnaroo and I've learned a few things from the previous two. The first Bonnaroo I went to I took a bunch of stuff into Centeroo with me. Such as:
1. Hand Sanitizer 2. Gold Bond 3. Flash Light 4. Rain Gear 5. Map 6. Money 7. I.D. and a few things that escape me right now.
One of the things I noticed last year is that except for the money, I never used any of these things. I would get "intoxicicated" and worry so much about my money falling out of my hip bag when I went for my moisturizer, flash light etc. that I just didn't bother and I realized that I really was carrying all of this cr@p for nothing.
So in 2009, the only thing I am carrying into Centeroo is money, and I'm wearing pajama bottoms so I will be comfortable sleeping between sets. I'm torn about taking my ID because I've never been carded and at 38 I probably don't have to worry about that anymore.
I don't want to minimize the suggestions of other posters about the value of being prepared in Centeroo, by all means carry what gear you need but I've found personally that less is more. And when I'm shakin' my butt and gettin' my groove on I sure don't want to be weighed down by a bunch of stuff I'm not using.
Oh, I will carry a disposable rain jacket if it looks like rain or even lighter a simple plastic trash bag. A trash bag saved me at Metallica when it was raining. It wasn't so much getting wet that bothered me but the wet was making me cold, and I can't have a good time if I'm cold.

i have to agree that less can be more, but at the same time i like having some of these things with me. i.e. flashlight, hand sani, camelbak, cornholder, extra smokes.
i think i would rather just have my camelbak that i can set on the ground by me while i'm shakin it, so i can have these items handy. i hate having all the pockets on my shorts crammed with poop.
sometimes i will tom sawyer my friends into carrying things. saying things like boy it sure would be nice if we had this blanket to sit on, or it sure would be nice if we had this little misting fan doohickey. they fall for the trap. we all want it but i know i don't want to carry it around. ain't i a stinker?

So basically you turn your friends into "pack mules"? LOL That's funny.
I hate having to set something on the ground and keep looking to make sure it's still there or that I haven't danced away from it. It really puts a damper on the whole "dance with abandon" thing.
I've just found that I can have a whole lot more fun without a whole bunch of junk to keep up with.
i always have the camelbak, which i keep relatively lightly packed. i fill it with water (from the cooler -- kinda gross if you REALLY think about it... but so is a LOT of stuff at Bonnaroo) additionally i pack:
2-3 trashbags schedule candy corn flashlight hand sanitizer lighters
thats about it... i leave room for ground scores (and other scores too i guess)
*i like coconuts, you can break them open they smell like ladies lyin in the sun** *Hell I don't even know where I am** *for now I must sit here and ponder the yonder: The herbivores did well cause their food didn't never run** *We listen, if it feels good We shake** *You made a big impression for a girl of your size, Now I can't get by without you and your big brown eyes.**

I always have a camelbak with me and it's perfect, small enough that I don't even notice it but big enough for my camera, monies, a sheet to sit on and my schedule....oh yeah, and last year it held lots o'glowsticks......it could hold more, but I never need more....
I think the camelbak is the best decision I ever made, what few things you do need fit right inside.
The camelbak definitely helped me downsize, I used to carry a BIG huge backpack filled with stuff. The camelbak also eliminates the need to carry a water bottle constantly.
I used to carry a heavy fleece blanket to sit on, this year I just carried a twin-sized sheet that did the trick (I tie-dyed it myself)! I carry a small bag of toilet paper and santizing spray for the portos, and a small thing of hand sanitizer. Also a flashlight (get a small one of those too) and a small misting bottle.
The best way to downsize for centeroo is to think SMALL...travel-sized everything. You're only there for 4 days, you don't really need as much stuff as you think.
I'm one of these people who hyper-overprepares...I carry EVERYTHING I think I might ever need...so it was a lot of work for me to downsize!
water bottles - frozen Neat sheet to sit on smokes corn/holder money schedule small bag of TP small bag of sanitizing wipes small bottle of hand sanitizer car keys camera sunblock sunglasses Misty Mate extra batteries
I could not go into Centerro for the day without that. BUT - I also was not the one that had to carry it.

I tend to forget to bring my bag, but when I do I usually just have a Nalgene bottle, some TP, and sunscreen in it. Everything else fits conveniently in my cargo shorts pockets, or else I figure I don't need it.

I guess I am pretty much repeating what everyone else brought in
camelback a ton of mini ziplock bags filled with tp cigs cell camera SUNBLOCK water sprayer/fan FOOD! fruit cups, beef jerky, lunchables (I couldn't eat the crap they sold there, I had pizza once and bought some bananas from the smoothie vendor.) the Bonnaroo schedule booklet corn & corn holder blanket or sheet

for christmas i got the blanket from bonnaroo.com that folds up and is plastic on the bottom in case it is wet. i can't wait to use this, especially when i go to see shows at blossom here at home.
I've gone VIP the last 3 years, so I've been fortunate enough to be able to go back to my campsite when I need to. I'll carry a bag during the day usually, but I prefer to travel light at night.
For daytime I'll have water, camera, sunscreen, schedule, and my folding hiking stool.
At night I'll have a bottle of water and my camera if my motor skills are able to operate it.
I took a backpack full of stuff into Centeroo for Friday, my first full day on the farm. It was more of a pain in the butt than anything, and I made sure not to repeat that mistake the next two days.
Here's the much lighter load I brought in on Saturday and Sunday:
Camelbak (very worth the investment if you don't already own one) Ciggies / lighter Corn holder Cell phone Camera Schedule (printed out my own at home and kept the official one as a souvenir) Money belt / important cards from my wallet (I know I looked like a huge Melvin whenever I had to pay for something, but it was worth the peace of mind to not worry about pickpockets)
I bring different stuff night versus day, as well.
Day money cell phone frozen water bottle cooling spray sunblock sunblock lip balm TP in a baggie baby wipes in a baggie mini hand sanitizer bottle snack (like a granola bar or apple) Neat Sheet Misty Mate sunglasses pen and post-its
Night money mini flashlight on a cord around my neck
I pretty much use everything I bring with me during the day. Especially the Neat Sheet, Misty Mate and sunblock (which take up the most room). If I'm already carrying those, the rest don't add much.

Car keys Cash ID Credit card Health Insurance card Neurogena cooling spray sunblock - absolutely the best way to go for Roo. Chapstick Baby wipes Poncho (only if rain is forecast) Mini flash light Schedule & map Camera with extra batteries Cell phone Pen & small notepad Neat Sheet or folding chair (if I am alone I will just take the neat sheet).
I tried the Camelbak and didn't really like it so I bought a large hemp purse that carries everything perfectly.

Last year I bought a camelback to bring with me. I loved it, not having to carry around water bottles or anything. But I bought the slightly bigger one that doubles as a back pack too, and I think I could have saved the money and just got the small one. Even though I had all that room I still kept everything in my cargo pockets on my shorts. It was a pain to have to take it all out everytime I went into centeroo too.
I always had: money car keys ID 3-4 packs of smokes schedule phone camera
All in my pockets. The only thing that went into my back pack was sunblock which I forgot to use because it was in there and not in a pocket. lol.
This year I'm gonna be sure to utilize the space in my camelback and not overstuff my pockets.
Last year i tooka big hemp BP and put all my stuff in it...pretty much the same as everyone else...
Phone TP Schedule Smokes Corn holder wrap skirt that i sat on...ground score form year before..super light Frozen water bottle trail mix booty wipes ID Camera
Problem was when you trip over that rock thats always at the roo diggin in that quacking bag became a HUGE chore!! lol

My point EXACTLY. I get to a spot mentally where I think, what is all this crap and why did I bring it with me. Ands if I dig through it, it will all fall out and I will lose it forever. All I need is the music, the fresh air, the starry night and maybe a beer.
My Centeroo Pack list is pretty small.... and I don't have a pack-mule!
Camelbak w/ water Camera Extra batteries Rain jacket (at night) sunscreen blackberry keys attached to the internal lanyard thing baby wipes small pack towel 'jelly'beans, 'chard'onnay, and corn...
oh, and in case I need a couple calories but don't really have an appetite... I always pack a few of these:

I usually take what fits in a ziploc bag in my cargo shorts pockets (camera, money, party favors, small sunscreen during the day, glowies at night, disposable rain poncho if necessary) and carry a water bottle and my secret whiskey smuggling device (both have shoulder straps.)
Sometimes I just take a small waterproof shoulder pack (like a man purse) to consolidate and protect when in the fountain.
Very light and I have all I need for the day/night.
