Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
my extra piece of advice would be this: If you decide not to do tent only and have your vehicle near your tent, keep ALL your stuff in your car. I had a bag swiped last year out of my tent (it was nothing major but still mad me mad!).
This was my plan and my biggest concern about tent only. I really want somewhere I can lock stuff up, and a padlock on a tent doesn't seem all that secure to me.
I have done tent only three years in a row and I never had an issue with people stealing my stuff, but then again I have done Camp Inforoo 3 years in a row and there is usally someone that is around. If you do tent only I would take your essentials with you and valuables in the car if you are worried about theft.

i will have to go alone this year. i can not decide on the shuttle or getting a rental from the airport. i am leaning toward the shuttle. i know that if i do the shuttle that the tent only area will be the best bet. i think that i can figure out the storing of valuables and all that other stuff just fine.

There is a thread for people that are planning on camping in camp inforoo so you might be able to ask someone to save some space for you somehow. If you are unable to find the camp then you can just yell "Corncat" and listen for people to yell "nom nom nom" or the other way around. And as long as nothing is just laying out in the open you shouldn't have a real problem, I was stupid last year and lost... lost a good amount of stuff.

Thanks for all the info everybody! I REALLY want to go this year... but probably wouldn't be able to find any company for the trip. But after reading up on solo Rooing on Inforoo, I am convinced that I'll have a blast and will be buying a ticket! I'm coming from R.I.. and hopefully going to the Knoxville Phish show on the way too!
My question... in tent only, is it frowned upon for using everything but a tent or is everyone okay with people using different methods of sleep and shade?
people bring ez - ups - tarps and all sorts of shade. As you already know - it is HOTTTT - plus if you camp at Camp Inforoo - you can just add your shade to the others.

hey, if you need someone to caravan with or catch a ride with, im right up the road!
This will be my fifth Roo, and originally I was bringing a ton of people, then I wasn't going at all, now I'm flying solo. Roo is great either way, but if you can find a crew you like (such as on this board) get to know 'em and then you have insta-buddies when you get there... You'll find no one cooler than the people on InfoRoo!
last year i was going to go to roo as a female alone but ended up meeting up with people from the year before. i spent most of my roo wandering meeting new people and getting into trouble. i advise you as a free spirit to go to dance to live its an amazing experience that everyone should do at least once. This will be my fourth roo and can not wait!!!
Hey too any of ya who are going it alone, I am as well. Message me at deelynn41 on yahoo and possibly we could chat and meet up at the festival.
You should definitely consider camping at Camp Inforoo. It's tent only, and a lot solo Rooers will be there (including me...). You will have PLENTY of good company!

If you end up camping by your car, get a *good* fix on your bearings and mark/flag your camp so you can find it easily later. We had a friend get hopelessly lost for hours in '08. It was his 1st time and he didn't foresee the difficulty of finding one tent in the dark amid tens of thousands. He finally found us only after it started getting light in the morning.

I got lucky last year and just walked straight down the road out of centeroo until I saw a bigass yellow van... That was my campsite. Hopefully this year will be just as easy.
