In an effort to raise awareness of water issues facing the world, reducing waste, and upgrading the drinking water onsite, Bonnaroo and our friends at Stanley nineteen13 are implementing the Bottle-less Water Program. For each purchase of this Bonnaroo branded reusable stainless steel water bottle, $1 will go to the Global Water Challenge whose mission is to generate a global movement to meet the urgent need for safe water and sanitation by spurring collective awareness and investment in innovation by corporate, public, and nongovernmental sectors.
At Bonnaroo, in addition to our usual free high quality well water (similar to tap), we'll have free filtered drinking water stations at various locations where you will be able to fill up your Bonnaroo water bottle for use throughout the festival. To make it easy, all water bottles will be picked up at the festival. We encourage you to purchase one of these super cool limited edition Bonnaroo water bottles and become part of the solution to reduce waste, and help bring safe drinking water to those in need. Reduce, reuse, recycle, and educate.

I might just swoop up a camelpack to avoid the carrying of bottles anyways, between that and my frozen lemonades and the booze i drink i will for sure not use a water bottle =)
I'm curious if you have to have one of the Roo water bottles to get the filtered water? I'd buy a water bottle to have access to it, then when I get up there, fill up my camelpak instead

that crossed my mind as well. I could see many people filling up regular water bottles and other stuff at these unless they had some strict security guards watching them or something lol
I can't imagine they would....unless the filtered water has some special drain/plug/fitting on it that only the Roo water bottles would fit to.....THAT might be a consideration...but there will always be ingenious people that will figure out ways around that if that is the case...

The problem with the fucking water bottle thing is if they take as long as they did with the fucking DVD then you wont get it until fucking December. They need to run their business as good as I ran the fucking government of Illinios

I tend to get weighted down enough as it is. I'll probably stick to regular old plastic bottles and just refill like always.
Where do you buy them and how much are they, anyways?
Also, they can't manage to produce and ship dvds in a timely manner and after seven Roos they still haven't figured out how to get enough schedules for every attendee. I have no confidence that these will be waiting at the gate for me!
hmmm. first of all, am i the only one who was under the impression that the tap water was somewhat filtered? here i am drinking this stuff all along and it's not even filtered!!!! i can't believe i was tricked into drinking the tap water in tennessee of all places!! bwah! the humanity!!!
anyways on a more serious note. i'm still hitting up the easiest line to get water from when my bottle runs dry and yes i use recyclable plastic water bottles from wal-mart and tote one around all day in my high tech fanny pack that is equipped with a water bottle holder. im lazy and being able to roll over and grab a fresh water bottle from the cooler in the middle of my night is something i cherish when at roo.

yeah see i like the idea of a camelback but im a wierdo and like to have the least amount of stuff on me i can possibly have. the thought of something on my back makes me nervous. it's the overwhelming case of laziness i have. the fannypack works well with this. just enough space to stash some stuff and tote a water bottle but easily ignorable and forgettable. wish i had the strength to carry around lots of stuff all day but unfortunately im probably one of the laziest people around lol

I don't mind the touch of sulfur inthe well water so Filtering is no big deal.
And illyb, tap water is not filtered. It is chemically treated to meet EPA requirements but can still contain some nasty stuff. Filtered water should remove chlorine, lead, arsenic, etc. but it depends on the filter.
Roo well water is not treated at all (except a sand filter at the bottom of the wells to keep from pumping up mud). Mother Nature does the treating. The water is tested daily to insure it is safe to drink.
I wouldn't mind a bottle but it seems like it might be a hassle to fill at the designated stations. I see them having stations that sell the bottles and refill them so that everyone doesn't take advantage and/or fill camelbaks, etc. I also see lines but we'll have to wait and see.
I do like the idea and the bottle is pretty cool.

Also, whoever mentioned Franzia, please buy something better. There is much better boxed wine for the same approximate price as Franzia. At least try black box, which is available at most grocery stores, though a bit over-priced.

I'm thinking these will have to be carried in to Centeroo empty...otherwise, can you imagine the security lines growing exponentially while individual bottles are checked for content?!?
I was really excited when I saw this on the email...I love my Camelbak bottles and was pretty annoyed last year to have to buy disposable ones because it can be so wasteful (yes, I recycled, but still). I would have bought a bottle anyway, even without the water filling stations...personally, I'd really prefer the bottle over a tshirt, so even if it's on the expensive side I'd like it. Plus only having to carry around one water bottle instead of 3 or 4 will leave more room in my bag for the beer and whiskey!
I'll still use my camelback b/c its easier than filling up a water bottle every hour in the heat...I'd like the Bonnaroo water bottle for home though since I carry a reusable a\water bottle to work every day.
I am still unclea on the whole deal of ordering one. It says all water bottles are picked up during the festival. Does that mean order now and get it at someplace in centeroo??
