Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
Ladies and Gentlemen, step right up for your chance to win a ticket to the 2007 Bonnaroo Music Festival. The contest is simple and so are the rules. The contest will run from April 1st through April 15th and is available to all Inforoo members. Members and entrants may cast their vote (once) by posting the name of their favorite entrant on April 16th. The winner will be chosen by the decision from the mods and myself and announced on April 17th.
The contest rules are as follows... Below are 4 groups of 3 similar photos. Chose 1 photo from each group and write a story (500 word minimum), involving the photos and yourself, explaining why you might not make it to Bonnaroo. To clarify, it's 1 story involving the 4 images of your choice. Not 1 story per image group. To enter, make the first word in your post "ENTRY" in bold letters. You may modify your entry as many times as you want and must follow the Inforoo posting guidelines. You see...simple!
As an added bonus, AugustWest has graciously sweetened the deal by adding a $200 Coleman tent (unused) to the winning prize package.
I already have a ticket, so I will decline to enter, BUT..... I would like to sweeten the deal, I have an unused 200 dollar Coleman tent still in the box that is extra that I will throw in for the winner, hell I will even pay shipping to avoid any mixups at the roo. I like a good contest, so if you win, I will find a way to get your address and you will have a tent with your ticket. Good Luck!

I keep reading this thread and thinking you could do someting even bigger with that ticket and tent.....Maybe we could all get some camping equipment (new) together, and put some big extreme bonnaroo package together on ebay or an auction...and donate the money to some good cause..perhaps an unheard need from the manchester area. (just and idea!)
But Karma for you all to be so nice to start something like this!
"Disobedience, in the eyes of anyone who has read history, is man's original virtue. It is through disobedience and rebellion that progress has been made." Oscar Wilde (1854 - 1900), The Soul of Man Under Socialism
"You're either on the bus or off the bus." Ken Kesey
"When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro." Hunter S. Thompson
ENTRY We pulled the tent my boyfriend, Daniel last used a few Bonnaroo’s back, out of the storage closet the minute we heard Police at Bonnaroo. It was packed in a clean vibes bag. Stuffed in a box that a few mice were also calling home. We took a R.V last couple of years, so we haven’t pulled it out in a while. We discovered that it was packed tight enough that the moisture stayed in for a few years permeating the tent with the stink of mold. We knew that it needed some replacement pieces for the rain-fly. So now we need a new tent for Bonnaroo. Wink-wink. So when my boyfriend showed me the post on inforoo about a free ticket and a tent I decided to write a story not for me but for someone else. I want the tent. Not a weird one I couldn’t follow, but one to give someone else that miracle. We have two of the best friends anyone can know. Gabe and Darcia, they live in Titusville, Fl. We live in Indianapolis. We most of the time only see them at Bonnaroo. Well last week March 21st, Gabe and Darcia we married and the expense of an out of state wedding will prevent them from going to Bonnaroo this year. The wedding was beautiful to say the least. My feet hurt heels but everything else great. Oh yeah and then there was that unfortunate accident. We were going for a joy ride of sorts. Well backed into a SUV and broke the tail light on our new Honda. Back to my story, the newlyweds headed of to the airport at one in the morning for paradise, Hawaii. Only to find CANCELLED due to weather. “Well we can send you Tuesday to Tuesday.” The ticket agent told them. There honeymoon was Saturday to Saturday. There is no one at the timeshare place at one in the morning to approve such a change. So they are out a honeymoon and a chance to go to Bonnaroo as well. Daniel and I would love nothing more than to have our best friends with us at Bonnaroo. We just can not swing two tickets. We are getting married April, 20th 2009 and just bought a new car. So most of our money is tied up but, we could definitely get one ticket and some Ky-jelly for them. If you could give them that miracle ticket, they could have a honeymoon after all. We will have a White Russian “Dude” style in your honor. Or if that was just an extra ticket stop by our tent where it is always, 4:20. We will take the sling shot with us to the Flaming lips and hopefully start the biggest glow stick war Bonnaroo has ever seen. I bought a thousand off EBay two days ago. Remember glow rings not glow sticks for safety.
Don’t know if this is type of story you wanted but worth a shot. P.S AugestWest should get a lot of Karma. That was very nice.

You have to pick one picture, from each group above (thats 4 pictures) and incorporate them into a story (true or not) explaining why you might not make it to bonnaroo.
Post your story (that meets the rules of the contest and the rules of Inforoo) in a separate thread of its own and a mod will make paste it into the contest thread.

Well, it would be my story, simply with verbs, adjectives and nouns interjected by other people. The actual strutuce of the story would remain in place, it would just use funny, out-of-place words.

ENTRY
I can count on one hand the number of concerts I have been fortunate enough to attend. My first concert captured me, opened me up to a completely different side of my soul. Live music, jam bands...what an internal revolution I experienced. Feeling the energy exerted from the masters as they played was a spiritual reconstruction for me. Just by closing my eyes, I was enraptured and taken to a different realm. That is the exact moment I went from being obsessed to to being addicted. I have always felt that I was thrown into the wrong decade. Being a child born during the '80s, I never got to see many of the classic heroes play for the crowds. I became fascinated with the '60s and '70s at a young age. The music revived my soul and I felt what all those people must have felt many years ago. The love and life of the music enchanted me. Now, many years later, that same enchantment is still there. These past few months, I have become intrigued with the passion and sheer joy exuberated by fellow 'Rooers as they speak of past experiences. I am a bit sheltered when it comes to concerts and festivals. Although I live for the music Bonaroo portrays, I have never experienced such a cultural gathering firsthand. My fiancee and I have looked forward to and planned our escapement to the farm this year. Due to plenty of sickness and many doses of NyQuil, our Bonaroo savings has become quite shabby. Being the parents of a two year old blooming princess and a one year old monkey boy, we rarely have time to speak to each other in private, let alone have four days to ourselves to reconnect. Our life has become like a pogo stick, always bouncing from work to home. Finding time to spend with the babies is almost impossible, and time alone is extremely rare. It would take a genius like Einstein to find even a minute of spare time in my chaotic life. To be able to become one with the music and the people, would be a dream in its own. We live for the spirit that the music possesses and all that it stands for. At times, it seems like planning ahead always backfires. My fiancee and I have planned a few getaways, but something has interrupted our hopes every time. For once, we almost had our savings built up for a small, stress-free trip. Then, the plague attacks everyone. The lack of health insurance quickly dwindled away our honey pot. Back to square one, with all the stress of every day life combined with the deflated hopes of a chance to spend time together recapturing feelings we used to experience through music. The backdrop of carefree compassion and the spiritual movement of the Bonaroo music would be completely mesmerizing. Yet, money does not stretch far enough when you have two beautiful, tiny souls you want to give the world to.
hey all. i wish i could enter this contest but i might not be able to make it this year after all... court problems... and my house got robbed and my roomates moved out... so left stranded no money, no house, my mom graciously let me stay with her, but not for long. i have been wanting to goto bonnaroo this year to hang out and meet you all... not to work it... but im in over my head. so ill just stay mellow and hope my prayers are anwsered... good luck to all entrants and i hope all goes well this year.... i hope the first hippy this year gets as much hospitality as kramer and i last year... ill try and keep up with you all
