Damn, you beat me! I was just about to start this thread....and then I noticed yours and didn't realize what it was until I clicked....thanks for starting it! I loved this thread last year and since I'm one of the only ones not in love with this lineup, I'm really looking forward to some recommendations that will help me love it.

I'm working on round one of my 'roo mix, looking for some fresh suggestions.
I like rock, funk, and jazz. My favorite acts on this year's line-up include David Byrne, Elvis Costello, and Ben Harper. I like jambands (like Keller and RRFB), but I don't really care for moe. I really like to dance, but I am very picky about my electronic music.

recommend me something, please.
Its a little bit of a leap from the bands you've listed, but i have a feeling you would enjoy Citizen Cope. He's got sort of a chill, reggae, folsky rock kinda thing going on. his songs are amazing. my favorite album is probably The Clarence Greenwood Recordings. if you just want a few songs try: Nite Becomes Day Son's Gonna Rise Mistaken I.D.
Edit: Girl talk as good as it gets if you like to dance. he is a mashup DJ. he takes older hip hop classics and mixes them with modern stuff for a really awesome, unexpected and totally danceable sound. his shows are notoriously high energy and people love them cause you generally have heard most of what he is playing, but he only drops each track for 30 seconds or so. I dont really like his recordings so much, because they dont really capture what he does live.

If you like funk and jazz, you ought to enjoy Allen Toussaint.
Edit: Might as well provide a little more info...
Toussaint is a New Orleans songwriting, producing and performing legend. He wrote "Working in a Coal Mine", "Get Out My Life Woman" and many other hits. He's a rock hall inductee who has been a huge influence on rock, funk, and hip hop since the 60s. Check out his album "Toussaint" for a taste of his old stuff, or for his newer stuff listen to "I Believe to My Soul" (which also features soul dynamos Billy Preston, Ann Peebles and Irma Thomas) or his album his Elvis Costello, "The River in Reverse". Perhaps he and Elvis will perform together during one of their shows... that would be sweet, since I missed their prior joint Bonnaroo appearance.
