What's on the VIP menu? I haven't looked. I thinking having food ready for me at meal times would be nice, but there's also something I really enjoy about cooking at the campsite with all my friends...
"We're no longer called Sonic Death Monkey. We're on the verge of becoming Kathleen Turner Overdrive, but just for tonight, we are Barry Jive and his Uptown Five. "
I'm not sure where else to put this since the Roo Tickets' thread has been locked, but this is the language pertaining to VIP ticket sales in the ticket section of bonnaroo.com: "There is a limit of (1) VIP package per order."
I bought our tickets in December, but I need to pick up two more pairs. I'm hoping the statement truly means "per order" and not "per person." Thoughts? Any insight will be most appreciated.

It is per order, not per person or per account. We ordered multiple sets last year and again during the pre-sale in December. You just have to complete the order process multiple times.
Wondering if anyone has the cash to spring for the on-site RV rental on top of VIP tickets? Sounds dreamy but VIP is already a stretch for us financially...
Can anyone give us an estimate of the dimensions of our campsites? I'm trying to determine how best to arrange our site but never having been it's a bit difficult to determine. I would like to bring a 10x20 shade tent but I think that might be a bit too large. However we would be more than happy to share it with the neighbors we have.
a 10x20 will fit fine, based on the last two years.
we had room for two 10x10 ez-ups and my wife's car (a nissan versa) parked across the top of our site with a little bit of room to space on each edge.
this year, some friends of ours are coming with us, so we'll have two sites and we're trying to figure out a way to cover a 20x20 or 25x25 area easily and comfortably.
I'll be sitting out VIP this year. I swore I would never go back to GA after last year's VIP experience, but the price increase is just too much for me.
I actually was planning on sitting this Roo out and going every other year, but the lineup is just too delicious to pass up.
OK all you VIP-ers out there..... my son and his friends go GA every year to Bonnaroo so us "old" people want to go VIP and bring the RV, etc. Can our kids with the GA tickets come into the VIP campground and visit us, etc? I went last year as a volunteer so I'm not sure how the access goes with the VIP camping. And, where is the VIP lot? Like when you go out the back gate by the Ferriss Wheel is it to the right?

dont think so..you get different VIP wristbands that allow you access to the VIP areas.

You can only get into the VIP area if you have a VIP bracelet. You can however visit them in GA anytime you want.
The VIP camping area is in front of the What stage (main stage). If you are facing the arch looking toward centeroo it is the walled off area to your left.

Nope, you can't get into VIP without the wrist band.
And VIP, if you are standing at the arch looking at the main stage, is to your left. It runs along the left side of the main stage viewing area.

We went in 07 VIP for our first Roo and (check-in aside) had an awesome time. Got sidetracked by our wedding last year, but are really psyched to be heading back down to the farm for VIP Roo 09. Hopefully will get to meet up with a lot of inforoo'ers this time as we stayed pretty much to ourselves in 07!
the camping spot in 08 seemed a little smaller than 07. I hope we get a little bit more room this year. No complaints if not. we bring a 10x10 canopy and it's MONEY! i dont think we could make it through the weekend with out it.
our neighbors flew in from boston last year and didnt have much so we shared everything with them. I felt so bad when i saw them with no shade...
Camping spot was defintily smaller last year, but still had room for a Truck, Tent, and a Sunshade, so it still is roomy. What worked best though was talking to the guys next to us and hanging a tarp between our cars basically shading the whole site. Pays to make friends

Yeah, in '08 we fit a 12x10 shade canopy (crucial!), tent, and car. Not room for much else, but I though this was plenty of room. Hopefully things will be set up about the same this year. Can't wait!!!
did anyone think security in vip last year was a lot more strict than it was in '07? my firiends were told they couldn't bring a camelback into the concert area last year, but i saw a bunch in '07? i thought that was a little ridiculous. also tried to take in a gatorade, unopened, but was told that we couldn't take in anything other than unopened water. no soft drinks, no energy drinks. nothing.
anyone else run into that? not sure what to think this year since you can buy a waterbottle when you order tickets. why sell a water bottle but not let people use it? hoping to know ahead of time so i don't over pack.
security was a little tighter in 08 than in 07. er, make that a lot tighter.
in 07, i decided to tempt fate - at one point walked by eating some corn holding a beer. not even a eye was raised.
in 08, was told i had to finish my beer before going in. even got patted down on friday. at one point, and rightfully so, they went to search this one guy who said "i didnt pay all this money to have you search me" and just walked by the lady. kind of a shitty attitude to take with her (i mean, she is just doing her job) but he had a point.
There was a big group of us and we took up two rows and made a formation something like this:
CAR TENT SHADE CANOPY SHADE CANOPY TENT CAR
The end result was that we had two rows of shade canopies side by side for 8-10 tents and it really seemed to maximize space.
Insofar as security, I never try to sneak in anything. We brought a handful of beers (less than five) and we got searched. Luckily, we distracted security by asking him to pose for a pic with RedVelvet and away we went!
I found security was more strict going into the area by the VIP hill. I didnt have any problems at the other entrance.
By the VIP hill I got searched almost every time and they kept confiscating my red bulls. I never really understood why we couldnt bring those in. Effers.
