Were RV-ing. I heard a story about cops gunning for RVs though. We intend on stopping on the way and camping and shit so where should we hide our contraband. We were thinking about the roof. I had friends who report they had to deal with dogs one time. Can dogs detect shit on the roof?

put your poop in plastic bags, put the plastic bags in a jar of peanut butter. Dogs won't be able to smell it through the peanut butter, and if cops check your cooler they won't think about opening the Jiffee. Hope I didn't break any rules with this post, but yeah.

This will be my 5th Roo, but only my 2nd coming from SoCal. Eff that driving BS though, I fly home to Chicago, then road trip with friends to the farm.
i'm driving out and a few friends and i were tossing around the idea of caravan-ing, but no one can make up their damn mind so my situation's still up in the air.
So California can represent. I'm flying into Austin and road-tripping from there. Can't wait! I think it's funny that almost everyone that responded to this is from San Diego.

i love that the west coast folks are coming all the way to TN for Bonnaroo!! i'm living in NY now, but i'm a born and raised Californian (South Bay/Los Angeles Area) and half my group is flying out from LA to drive down with us from the east coast. i would love to take the drive from west to east some year though! when are the drivers planning on leaving san diego? we take two full days to get down, and i just wanted to compare!
is ANYONE still looking for someone to carpool with? i'm freaking out because my friend just bailed on me and now i don't have any way of getting out there. i have canopies and stuff i really wanted to bring so flying would kind of make that impossible...
i'd be completely down for pitching on gas/goodies/etc. plus i'm totally awesome and have a good assortment of car games!
I'll be making the drive from the SF bay area this year, its going to be a big one; two 12 hour days and 2 6 hour days planned (stops in Flagstaff/OKC/Memphis/Knoxville) and some sites along the way; Jack daniels distillery, graceland, every bbq joint we see, giant ball of yarn
This is by far going to be my longest road trip, I'm hoping my little civic is going to make it.
My first Roo and I'm incredibly excited! Phish in knox the night before too!

hey... car games are awesome when there's nothing better... you'd be amazed how many times i played little 3 dollar mortal kombat and uno and spades mini games from kb toys to pass time on the car ride... haha

im flying to chicago from phoenix, then road trip with my cousin and his wife. the plan is to pick me up at the airport wednesday afternoon and head straight for the farm. hopefully we'll get to the jack daniels distillery on monday.
We're leaving from SF on that Saturday morning also. Our tentative plan is
Day 1(sat): SF>Flagstaff, AZ Day 2: Flagstaff>OK Ciy Day 3: OK City>Memphis Day 4(tue): Memphis>Knoxville(Phish)
We're planning on long hauling it to Memphis by Monday, then taking our time to get to Knoxville at a good hour on Tuesday or wednesday. I definitely don't want to see Phish wednesday after spending all day driving. We don't plan on driving more than 12 hours a day.
How long have other people given themselves for the drive?
