so right now i'm 90% sure I'm going this year. never been to a festival besides Bonnaroo but have heard nothing but amazing things about All Good and have some friends going and like the lineup. So, I'm getting kind of excited

This is a very good choice for a first non-Roo fest. It's such a relaxed atmosphere after the frenzy of Bonnaroo.

^^^ For me it's a long trip. Around 670 miles, versus 370 to Roo. But well worth the drive. Last year on the way back, I camped in the Blue Ridge Mountains, then stopped in ATL to see Alejandro Escovedo play the Variety Playhouse. Plan on doing something similar this year and hopefully meeting up with another Roo Volunteer along the way. Hope to meet a lot of new Inforoo people there this year. It's gonna be a blast.

Has anyone done VIP ("even better") for AllGood? Got my General Admission (+ Thursday pass of course) yesterday in the mail, but after seeing the VIPs at Bonnaroo, we're seriously considering even better at AllGood.
I've been, so I know the general scoop and how the walking distances work out. Would be nice to save 1.5 hours a day of walking time.
For the record, I... ...don't require A/C or showers while festing ...don't mind port-o-potties
So what I'm asking I guess is whether even better is worth it just to not have to wait in line to get into the fest and for the private camping area within view of the stage. We'd be aiming to be first in the VIP check in line so that we could be among the first to claim the best VIP camping spots.

I'm getting anxious to see my volunteer schedule. I'm expectiing to be leaving in about 17 or 18 days, on Monday or Tuesday, getting checked in Tuesday night, and working Wed. and Thursday, finishing up before the shows start that evening.

i have a question about all good if anyone can answer it for me....i heard that you have to park your car then walk up the mountain and set up camp? is this true or can have your car beside your campground? i'm a very trusting person, but some stuff just needs to be locked up when i'm at shows...any help would be great, thank you!

^^You can camp next to your car no problem at all. There is a huge hill there that I don't know I would feel too great about setting a tent up next to my car if parked there, but that seemed to be the last spot to get filled up. As long as you get in line at a reasonable time I don't think you'll have a problem at all.
And to answer your earlier question, I don't know off the top of my head the number of people who attend, but if I had to guess I'd give it the 30,000ish range?

Yes! There will be, as long as there is interest.
There was a Camp Inforoo last year, which was The Place To Be all weekend. However, a lot of those people won't be making it back this year and others have other groups they'll be camping with this year. So it's time to organize Camp Inforoo 2009. I'm going to start a new thread now and everyone who is interested in camping in Camp Inforoo should post in that thread and say when you expect to get to Marvin's Mountaintop and list any gear, like easy-up canopies, tarps, and coolers you'll be able to contribute to a group camp.
I'm going to be a volunteer and will be camped in Volunteer Camping at night, but will most likely be spending significant time hanging out at Camp Inforoo during non-show hours, if there're enough people to make it happen, and y'all will have me. This'll be my 12th camping fest & 2nd All Good. I'll probably be set up by Tuesday night since I'm supposed to be a pre-fest volunteer and will be able to help secure a good spot and help get things set up when the first people get into the campground.
So my friend and I were planning on going to this as it's pretty close to us (we live in MD) but he got back and lost his job the day we got back from Roo and I just found out I'm losing my job as of the end of this week so money is an issue. We have all of the camping equipment, coolers, etc, etc... what we dont have is tickets and gas money and such. If anyone has any suggestions for us to make some extra cash before the festival or any tips on finding some cheap tickets send me a PM or something... thanks guys.
