Just back.
If anyone has the chance to go VIP next year, DO IT. Worth every penny. Could watch shows from the comfort of my own tent up on the hill in the trees (but of course got much closer for most).
Don't mean to be a hater, but I thought Ben Harper was the let down of the weekend. Ratdog, Cornmeal (2 sets!), Darkstar, Claypool, moe., Tea Leaf, Big Nazo, and SOJA (hear the chants during Ben's show?) each blew him out of the water. Just my opinion. Glad someone liked him.
Did anyone else see the glowstick army storm VIP, then the big "WELCOME TO ALL GOOD" field and change the sign to "GLOW LOVE" around 11PM Sunday night? Epic.
And how bout that weather? No rain. Breezy all weekend.

Woah.
I did things I haven't done in years.
We had a good camp. Small, but good. There were only two of us left on Sunday night. We raged.
Actually I got sick and went to bed and JB continued to rage without me. She's a pro. I suck.
Bubble arsenal did not travel well, but we still have the octopus and big multi-sized bubble machine. Sadly the ghetto blaster died.
Fear nuttin' Band was the surprise highlight of the weekend. It was like heavy metal reggae-punk hard rockin' rasta-core. Perfect early afternoon show for me. I wish I had seen more of their set.
STS9 was great.
Les Claypool probably my favorite set.
Shower and a shave were awesome. And yeah - A toilet. My advice to anyone who goes next year. Scrub your bathroom right before you leave. You will really appreciate the shiny porcelain a lot more than you ever did before.

AllGood was amazing, as always. A brief outline:
-Set of the weekend without a doubt was Umphrey's. Possibly the best show of the summer festivals. I would not be surprised in the slightest to see them win the Jammy Award for best latenight festie performance. It was just beyond incredible.
-Keller was surprisingly amazing in his midnight set. I had never seen him in a night time setting before, and had no idea he could lay down those funky beats like he was. Lots of fun.
-moe. should've never played AllGood. If they weren't there, then my most recent memory of them would've been that sick Roo latenight they pulled out. They were half-assed, uninspired, and rather boring for 80% of the show it seems. It had some nice jam highlights throughout, but sitting in a chair at camp seemed more appealing than listening to the last few songs so I left early.
-The sunrise over the mountaintop is one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen.

Ahhhh! I'm so glad to hear from you guys and happy you all had a blast and made it home safely!
Maniac-- it's esp good to hear a good report from you, being a n00b and all. Sorry you got sick though I always make up my bed with clean sheets and scrub down the bathroom and whatnot before a festie, makes being back home much, much better
Strum-- I watched, and now have the Umphrey's set and it is, by far, beyond incredible. I'm so glad you guys got to experience that. I think I may agree that it has been the best set, thus far. The only reason I wouldn't is because I wasn't physically there. I've looked for Keller's set but haven't found it as of yet. Surprising to hear moe. was less than pleasing, what with the badass 'Roo set, like you said. Maybe they were just having an off night?

For those of you that weren't watching the Umphrey's set, or who want to watch part of it again, here's a 5 min video I took when I was so overwhelmed that all I could think to do was just stand there with a camera aimed at them. It's going down as one of the most unbelievable experiences of my life, methinks
Oh man, that Umphrey's set looks sick! This is why I've got to make it up to Marvin's Mountaintop. AllGood 2010 for Jack324? Not entirely out of the question, me thinks.

This is why AllGood is without a doubt the most breathtaking and mindblowing music festival I've ever been to. In my opinion, witnessing something like this every morning can take precedent over some of the best music performers out there
+crunchy nice pics I've got a few like that as well
The best thing about Allgood in my opinion is how easy it is to get close to the stage. I was 15-20 feet from the rail for most shows even if I showed up late and I didn't have to push shove or wade through crowds. I could have never gotten that close for shows at bonnaroo without camping out. That hill was crucial too because if you get tired of standing you can go sit down and still be able to see the stage, which is another thing you could never do at Roo.
Had the greatest time of my life, got maniac in on some of the raging, listened to so much ill take a couple of weeks to sort in out in this head of mine cant wait til next year (or some of these festivals i am being talked into )
in short: love Umphrey's and STS9; really liked Fear Nuttin' Band and Galactic; Big Nazo freaked me the hell out (probably something i ate, esp. attacking me in the crowd); Keller Williams really got the crowd ready for the weekend; and watching the crowd during Yonder Mountain String Band was priceless; Bassnectar's Glow Stick War was way epic; for the most part every act was worth listening too even if it was just havin a chill time up on the hill; and sunday was SPUNDAY; ...but in truth, my opinion doesnt really matter being a 19yr. old noob, and seeing most if not all of these people for the first time.... butt... take from it what you will. i was there. and rage i did.
p.s.- did i mention I (am almost postive) I met Bob Weir? hehe now try to tell yourself it was okay to sit at home!
...but in truth, my opinion doesnt really matter being a 19yr. old noob, and seeing most if not all of these people for the first time.... butt... take from it what you will.
Oh no. In truth, JB your opinion counts as much IF NOT MORE than most older veterans. Besides, you met Bob. That makes you cooler than most of us.

I'm going to go ahead and put you on the 2010 list, along with myself

Man this fog rolling in each morning was one of the coolest things I've ever been able to watch. Being on top of the mountain and looking down on nothing but this dense fog as the sun rose was just too surreal. It felt as though I was on top of the clouds looking down.
