Here's what I do. It's fairly extensive, but I have never had a bad port-a-pot experience at Roo
At home: I tear sheets of my preferred TP brand into average-use sizes. Fold and put in sandwich-size baggies. Also put wet wipes and antibacterial wipes into their own baggies. About how much you think you might need in a day. Clearly label each bag.
On the farm: at camp, use the pots at the end of the row in Centeroo, use the ones in the center
Then, I almost always am in a tank top of some sort so I use this area for "pockets." Left bra is TP, right bra - wet wipe, cleavage - antibacterial wipe
Get this all ready while in line so you're not fumbling around in your bag once inside. Then when you do go inside, wipe down the seat with your antibacterial wipe and sit.
PLEASE do this. Pee all over the seat is gross. You're not going to catch anything from a dry seat so just sit. Leave it nice for the next person.
And then attached to the outside of my bag is a bottle of Purel to use once outside again.
In and out super quick. Great system.
In the case of a super-gross toilet and lines down the block, you can get a Pstyle. They're fabulous and enable girls to pee standing up. Also good to use at camp to pee into an empty water bottle - just like the boys! www.kristascups.com/pstyle

I don't understand...is it really that difficult to hover? I'm not being sarcastic, it just seems to be the least hassle for me.
I am pretty short so it can be difficult. I have not mastered floating in mid air just yet. But I am trying. The good thing is some of them have handle bars on the door in front of you. That makes it easier
I have thought about making some P-styles out of heavy duty plastic and selling them in a kit with a little thing of wetnaps and a couple of Ziplocs. I bet I can get a lot of business outside the porta potties if I do.
last year at Langerado i kind of got into the hang of going behind a female. if my girlfriend didn't have to go and i went alone, i would wait for a woman to come out of one because there's like a 9 out of 10 chance that they had cleaned it with wipes and such. every single one i got was remarkably clean, and i usually just peed by the tent when we were at camp. i only had to poop once, on sunday, and i made sure i got the cleanest one i could find. granted that there will be double the amount of people at Bonnaroo than there were at Langerado, but still. i'm gonna stick to that method i think.

That makes sense to me. I guess I've just always had good balance (plus I'm tall).
Jess, I'm thinking about betting guys in line that I can get in and out of a porto faster than they can. People are always in awe of my bathroom skillz. LOL.

I'm not really squicked out by portos, I dunno why, I've just never had a problem with restrooms really. Becca is right when she says that the bathrooms at Roo are VERY CLEAN...I went into a porto at Ultra that was literally COVERED in puke. Even on the back of the door. All the portos at Ultra were disgusting...and I have a high tolerance.
Trick #1 is to go early in the morning because they clean them out. Find where the honeytruck is and go into the stall right behind it, it's usually the cleanest. I made some of the truck operators mad last year because I was literally standing outside the door waiting on them to clean it.
Trick #2 is to have a porto survival kit. I have a small bottle of Clorox hard-surface spray (completely kills bacteria) and then I also have a wad of TP (no need to buy the Charmin To Go...just roll up your own toilet paper at home and save money). Spray the seat, wipe it down, use my own TP, and then afterward use hand sanitizer on my hands.
Oh and night a flashlight/glowstick around your neck/headlamp is cruicial. Dark portos ARE scary.
^Trinumeral was hands down the worst I have ever seen. They didn't clean them out but twice all weekend, and it looked like my friend Molly had her own little private party in each of them.
i dont get the girls hovering. that's what leads to half the pissy toilet seats i see, im convinced.
just sit down. i wouldnt hover if i had to drop anchor - and i always pee in the urinal so not to mess the place up.
my advice would be to ensure you have adequate footware. those awesome rope sandals i have are great, but they wick all liquids to the sole of my feet. not good when that liquid is a pool of human waste.
I have never left a wet toilet seat, ever! In addition to amazing balance, I've got good aim (but even if I didn't, I'd be courteous enough to wipe the seat).
I keep a little port-o-survival kit on me at all times
- clorox wipes - Wipe down anything you are going to touch before you tough it
- travel toilet paper - You can get little travel guys at Walmart. They come in a plastic container, so the don't get wet, and pull out like a reg roll - nice and quick with no hassles - a nessecity for any hell box experience.
- baby wipes - for freshening up down there
- hand sanitizer - self explanable
Also, practice holding your breath long before you go to build up your skills.

you know... in all actuality, I never had a bad port o potty experience at the roo. a mix of hovering, bring your own tp and hand sanitizer got me through both roos i have atteneded.
