I'm from Alabama, about 40mins from Birmingham. Probably going with Starshine's group out of Blount County, through Gadsden. It'll be my 2nd Roo, my first going in a big group. I'm interested to see how much more fun it'll probably be than just me and one other friend going last year, both of us Roo virgins. That was scary.
I've done the group and I've done the just one other person - both are fun but they are different experiences

I can see how they'll be different. I think it might be more fun in a group though since I'm so shy about talking to strangers. I don't know though, we'll see...

I used to be really shy when I went to shows but after my first Roo I talk to anybody and everybody at shows. I spend the majority of my time when I get to Roo solo and I've never had a problem finding cool people. I'm sure you won't have any problems opening up either. Just be friendly and you will find some really cool people.
This word also has a underground meaning once you break it down. Let’s take “Bonn” for example and it actually turns into the word “Bone”. We all know gays use this word to describe the action of when they are fecal fisting their Cuban cabana boy at their sex bath house parties. Now let’s look at Roo, “Roo” is short for “Kangaroo”.So put the full true message together and you get“Bone a Kangaroo
that was goood times. you bama folks showed me and a couple friends from atlanta a helluva night! wish i had seen this thread before today, as i sit here reloading umlive.net over and over
There's not a thing worth remembering When tomorrow can bring someone new Get used to the thought You can't be what you're not Life has already got plans for you
i was not, i was basically right in front of him maybe two spots over during the second set though. i was at the very back of the floor right in front of those seats.

I'll be in manchester this weekend, plan on checking out the farm, get me a preview before bonnaroo I plan on taking plenty of pics and video from the outside of the fence of course.
I'm thinking around 7 - 9 am. If people are leaving earlier though or later were down to caravan in to the roo.
I'm thinking that I will be up, awake and ready to leave at 7 and it will actually be closer to 9ish before we pull out - LOL
lol word! that's what I was thinking as well. I work early every day so I will probably be up and ready by 7am as usual. But like you said it will probably be 9am before we actually depart, that gives us time to pack up last min items, maybe stop off at wally world for any thing we may have forgotten, and eat some breakfast.
Hey people, My name is Brett and I go to Samford. This will be my first roo experience so I am really excited. I went to Lolla last year and I had to try roo this year. Any tips?

I was also wondering if anyone is going to that Summer Jam thing in Dothan...The Whigs are playing but I think I will wait till City Stages so I can see them along with some good Birmingham indie bands that are playing.

^That's what I was thinking. Wild Sweet Orange (the Great Book of John) and Vulture Whale are PHENOMENAL local bands.
All of those bands are great. Wild Sweet Orange could end up being pretty big I think. I think a band called Moon Taxi is playing. Their drummer and I went to high school together. They are a great jam/funk kind of band. I would for sure recomend them.
Thanks for the tips. I guess some of the advice would be the same for all festivals. Who are some of the bands you guys are looking forward to the most? I just started listening to Animal Collective and they are extremely impressive.
