There are few things I hate more than procuring lemon twists for drinks. Now that I am jobless I may have to start cooking good stuff again, though. Sometimes I want to join culinary school not because I like cooking, but just because I like eating that much. This post seems more fitting for the random thoughts thread...

It took me 20 years to decide to go back to school. Not because I was afraid but because the cost was too exuberant. Johnson and Wales is $23k a year. Times that by 4. Over $90k for a job that you won't make more than $15/hr (starting out) is moronic. I had a hard time digesting I was going to community college to get a degree I already had in experience.
That said I would look into this option. You need the lab hours that you can get for cheaper. Then transfer for your B.A.
I eat way too much, too. And dont get me started on the beer.

So I've decided for the Holidays I'm gonna remake that Gamehens cooked in bacon fat. I'm thinking of stuffing it with cornbread and chorizo with a side of sweet potatoes mixed with chipotle.
Too spicy? Something else? Ideas?

Too spicy. Leave out the chipotle in the sweet potatoes. Other wise sounds great. What time should I be there?

Calamari: sliced, tempura battered and fried. Tossed into sauteed garlic, onions, grape tomatoes and kalamata olives with a dry sherry sauce with a pinch of sugar. Mmmmmmm

Ahhh - that was a homemade pecan praline filled King Cake in honor of Mardi Gras season - i posted it on FB and the suggestion has been made that i should make one or two or more for the Inforoo Brunch in the colors of the arch this year - so we shall see - but it sounds like a good and feasible idea to me.

We were actually talking about how it was going to travel already iced (not good in the heat) so I think what I may do is make them ahead of time - freeze the cakes - pull them out when we leave - make the icing and put it in ziploc bags so that i can just snip the end off and squish it on the cake - that makes decorating easy - as for the arch - I'm sure someone who is there locally will give me some sort of heads up
