My best friend has a thing now where he asks women if, theoretically, they would go on a date with a guy if he offered them a plate of bacon. So far he's gotten a 4/5 success rate with that.
Chicks dig bacon, apparently.

That's it. I'm bringing a projector, dvd player and generator just so we can watch all these iconic movies together. I don't have any of these things, but maybe I can sell my body to the night and make it up in a week or so...
I'm so sorry to disappoint you, as well as everyone else I've disappointed by my lack of movie watching. However, I will not be able to watch it this weekend as I am going to a festival. I leave for Bonnaroo next Thursday, but I will try to get it in sometime between Monday and Wednesday. Promise. Just because I think you're swell.
do you at least know the music?? like if someone says 'who ya gonna call?' -- do you know what to say? i just used that as a pick up line the other day. AND IT WORKED!
As a pickup line? We should have met a little over a year ago. Alas...
Festivals are legitimate excuses - you're off the hook this time.
But next time someone from work wants you to go to some team-building exercise, just tell 'em you had some bad shellfish and spend an evening with Mr. Stay Puft instead. You won't regret it.
Speaking of Bill Murray, they're taking Lost in Translation off Netflix streaming on the 1st. I'm going to go get on that now-ish.
I have also never seen Lost in Translation.
Girl, what's wrong witchu?! We're gonna hafta learn you good.
It's my favourite Bill Murray drama by far, and one of those rare movies that I appreciate a little bit more on each subsequent viewing. It really captures the essence of Tokyo in a way that very few other films ever capture their own settings. The story is driven more by the characters' emotions than the plot itself, which I think is part of the reason why it manages to avoid all the usual romance cliches so well.
Plus, it gets bonus hipster points for featuring Phoenix on the soundtrack in 2003.
