Just saw her about a week ago in Savannah. Twas the third time I've seen her. It was a fun show but if there is something better going on this alleviates one of my conflicts.
Is she still touring with a band? About 2 weeks ago I watched a full show of hers online where she was playing with a band. It was really good I must admit.

Lat time I saw her it was just Ani and a drummer but that was a few years ago, but she got rid of the jazz band she was with in 02,03.

When I last saw her (November, I think) she had drums, bass and xylophone.
I miss the days of just her and Andy Stochansky but I don't expect that will happen again.
Stoked!!! I've seen her 4 times, and I just can't express the feeling of hearing her words live. Plus sometimes it has that goofy sit or stand feeling to it, thats always fun to try to figure out. That usually happens at an inside show tho lol
never seen her before but im excited to get the chance. my girlfriend is a HUGE fan and has seen her many times. we're pretty souped. we were talking about it earlier but when and where do you guys think she will play? is she big enough to play the What stage? i've never really gotten into her so i don't really know anything besides a few songs i've heard my girlfriend playing. she can wail on guitar though it seems and her lyrics are genius. i was thinking maybe she'd be put on like a 12:30 slot on the What stage? waddya guys think?

She played the third Which Stage slot on Friday in 04, after Los Lonely Boys and Yonder Mountain String Band but before String Cheese Incident.
Side note: she did her sound check at about 10 that morning so if you happened to be wandering Centeroo you got to watch her noodle for about about 1/2 hour and then play "Names and Dates and Times"...
"Who are you to judge the life I live? I know I'm not perfect - and I don't live to be. But before you start pointing fingers, make sure your hands are clean." - Bob Marley
When I saw her she performed with her drummer and an upright bass player. No xylophone when she was in Savannah a few weeks ago.
I just read this off of her tour page:
After returning from a long sweltering trip to the land down under Ani is taking a short break before hitting the road again on the east coast of ObamAmerica! (Yay!) Luck folks can join her with Todd Sickafoose on upright bass and Allison Miller on drums in March. Mike Dillon rejoins the band in April on percussion and vibes! The tour bus stops at the following venues:

mike dillon is the jimi hendrix of xylophone!, I have never seen anybody make xylophone a lead instrument let alone use effects to manipulate its sounds. He is one of a kind thats why i have mad respect for him.
What is the one song by Ani that I should listen to that might make me a fan? Nice Mike Dillon find. I wish they would add Go Go Jungle. That's the only time in my life that I've seen three drummers on stage at once.

Keep an eye out for the Band A Day write-up on her in the Troo Music Lounge.
