okay I saw this the other day and I have done some thinking and here is what I come up with if anyone besides kdogg cares...
First and foremost, nudity is illegal regardless of what your stance is on the subject. Personally I think it is ridiculous to rule a human being's natural state as an illegal act but hey, they like to do that, you know? *cough, CORN!, cough*
Second, the guy is obviously been hanging out with the fun guys or somecid like it. With that being said I think that it is important to remember that a human being is subjected to very abstract thoughts that expand the mind and I believe him to earnestly believe what he speaks and he is trying to talk to the security but on a level that they unfortunately cannot understand because they are living below above the influence.
I would like to believe the guy would have easily put his clothes on if the security could have persuaded him by relating to him by showing compassion and understanding. He kept asking them why he had to put clothes on to which I do not recall they delivering a direct answer. They could have made one up, they could have told that guy that purple aliens had had just landed and they were searching for guys with shrinkage for their next lab experiment and I would just about guarntee he would have put his robe on. But of course, this is only an assumption based on my behalf.
Next, let's examine why the wiz was actually tasered. The gentleman was lying on the ground when a rather large man comes crashing down on his rib cage. Now pay attention, this next part is important... Then the whiz has what many would describe as a natural reaction (and an altered one at that), it's a classic "fight or flight". He tries to scamper off not to evade arrest but probably because in his altered state he fears for his life, he is obviously confused. Of course he is then tased by an officer.
By this point in the video, I still do not condemn the officers for what they have done but when they continuing tasering him to the point that I can't even keep count, then I would declare that police brutality. C'mon, this guy was overly friendly, not threatening!
I think that security would have even been able to talk the guy into walking away from the scene with them. I don't think that the middle of grounds was the best place for all of this to transpire. He doesn't comply, escort him to a medic tent and make sure he gets plenty of water. Wait a few hours and once his brain has had a chance to catch up with his digestive tract, I bet he will happily put his clothes on.
I think it is rather unfortunate that all of this happened to this guy (including the tiny pen-is) however I think the police should consider themselves rather lucky. My worst fear was that the crowd was going to devour them alive but ultimately the Coachella demographic would never live up to this type of spectacle.
This is the first event of this nature that we have seen at a music festival and it really frightens me. More will follow. There is just too much hate in this world.
And instead of saying all of your goodbyes - let them know you realize that life goes fast - It's hard to make the good things last-you realize the sun doesn't go down - It's just an illusion caused by the world spinning round
I'm the opposite of moderate, immaculately polished With the spirit of a hustler and the swagger of a college kid Allergic to the counterfeit, impartial to the politics Articulate but still would grab a ni**a by the colla quick
Actually that is exactly what I would expect if I resisted arrest, especially if, in the course of that resistance, I locked onto the cop's package. See 2:45.
Even after repeatedly tasering him, they had a hard time getting him into cuffs. So I guess I don't understand why it matters that he was tased repeatedly, as if that was a major torture, when it obviously wasn't even affecting him that much. I guess they could have tasered once, wrestled for awhile, then tasered again, then wrestled some more, and repeated that process until the guy came down or the aholes in the crowd started rioting. Or they could have jacked up the power and just tasered him once so strongly that he was cuffable, but that's where you get a much greater risk of death or serious injury.
The most appalling thing to me in that video is the behavior of the crowd. They could have helped the guy by calmly talking him down, but instead egged him on, just so they could have a show. I think that's another way Roo is not like Coachella - I would hope that at Roo people would be more likely to try to calm a person like that down rather than try to stir him up.
well actually a guy DID try to calm him down and have him put his clothes back on he proceeded to throw them...I am no fan of cops and love to be naked but this guy had it coming. Handle your drugs no dick
I don't care what you say about me, just spell my name right---P.T. Barnum "As I was walking up the stairs I met a man who wasn't there He wasn't there again today I wish to God he'd go away."
I'm gonna take the po po's side on this one. Clearly it was about more than just enjoying a festival whilst naked for this guy, he wanted to make some kind of statement against authority and he knew it would lead to confrontation. If it was purely about enjoying nakedness he would have covered up and then took his clothes back off after the cops had been satisfied and left. The whole point of tazering someone is to encourage submission and if you dont submit initially, you will eventually.
The more I think about this, the more I'm disappointed in the crowd. He was getting encouragement from the people around up to a certain point. Aside from the one girl coming up to shake his hand, nobody tried to intervene or at least give him a voice of to consider other than the police's. They egged him on, then threw him under the bus while they pulled out their cameras to capture the moment for posterity. That kind of disturbs me.

Funny stuff. He seriously deserved it. If I am doing something blatantly illegal (IE indecent exposure) and three police walk up to me and actually try to help me preserve my freedom and let me be on my merry way, I'm going to take their advise, do what they say, and drive on. I don't care how intoxicated I am.
I was at a festival one year and this kid and I got busted by undercovers for 'blahblah', I just sat there calmly, gave up the goods and my ID, answered their questions, and didn't create a scene. The other kid immediately resisted and started screaming illegal search over and over. He got his a$$ kicked hard, maced, cuffed, and dragged away. I just sat there in the same spot telling him to chill before they really hurt him but he didn't want to listen. The cops didn't even put handcuffs on me. They just told me to get up and walk to the tent while they walked behind me. They just took my 'stuff' gave me a ticket for having a 'glass art piece' (I had a lot more than that) and they let me go enjoy the show. The ticket only cost me like $50 and I didn't even have to go to court. That retard stayed in jail for almost a month, received prob, fees, and community service. (And for the record, I had more 'loot' on me than this guy,a lot more...)
I know cops are extremely ridiculous in a LOT of places in this fine country, but people need to realize that the police are the long arm of the law that can and will b*tch slap you at any given moment. Oddly enough, throughout my years of being a law breakin' rambler I have found that for some strange reason, if you cooperate logically, your odds of walking out unscathed are drastically increased...
Plus think about the crowd. Wouldn't it suck to have to explain to your 5 year old child what a hermaphrodite is? LoLz
I've had the unexpected undercover encounter as well.
I was with a group of friends, tailgating behind my friend's van in the Alpine Valley lot before a Phish show. We (including one under-21) were sitting around drinking beers before we went in. Corn was offered around our circle, and who am I to refuse? Of course, it was just my luck that I had the corn holder when three people walk up. I also had a glass art piece in my pocket. They stuck out like sore thumbs - a woman in all denim, a moustached man in a button-up shirt, and a guy in a Packers shirt wearing a Camelback - the youngest of them looking to be in their mid-30s. They told us who we were and Mr. Moustache went through the van while his associates dealt with us. The woman had everyone's ID (well, everyone between the keeper of the corn and me with the corn holder) and was starting to process us...
At that moment, this younger guy came up and tried talking to us, not realizing what was going on. We tried to encourage the guy to move along, but he wouldn't listen. He asked us if we were interested in buying some bootleg t-shirts, which definitely got the attention of our unwanted guests. That was another no-no on their list. The guy tried to run (making a stupid choice to cut ahead between more cars, rather than back to the nearest open lane - but fortunately crushed the not-in-trouble under-21's beer before anyone asked about it) and got nabbed. They grabbed him and bent him over the hood of a vehicle, cuffed him and started going through his belongings - finding some corn and a glass art piece in his pocket.
The icing on the cake was that the undercovers were laughing at him, saying they would have let him go if he had only run the other way instead.
We all got taken to the processing tent. In the end, my friends & I got tickets and were let out to go to the show. That other guy probably would've been allowed to go to the show, but he wound up spending the night in jail for resisting arrest. Though it's possible the bootleg shirts alone would've led to the same result, I don't know for sure.
So yeah, in my experience... Cooperating = seeing the show, albeit with a citation. Resisting = missing the show because you're under arrest.

Am i wrong in knowing that coachella and bonnaroo are different, if something like this happened at bonnaroo... that dude would just go in the medic tent and people wouldn't be making the situation worse... they'd be calming him down, it probably wouldn't be cops, probably just security... at least i'd like to think so.
^Well I was at the show, and saw at least some of what went down. They could have not held him down and tazed him another 12 times. They were just pissed he had led them on a chase around the lot when he was naked.

Those cops probably were trained in effective and proper use of nightsticks, which would explain why they didn't use them. They clearly were not taught how to use tasers properly.
I hate to say it, but I just re-watched that and had a thought about Mr. Wizard's wand.
Is it possible he's exhibiting some kind of reverse shrinkage?
I know male gonads are external for temperature regulation. They have to be at a temperature lower than normal body temperature. They'll retreat into the body when surrounding temperatures are too cold (example: jumping into a cold pool.)
Would they then exhibit the same behavior if surrounding temperatures are higher than normal body temperature? It's not their ideal, I know, but it could be better than the California heat/sun.
No one has said this yet so I will. Right after they get the wiz on the ground for the first time, you can clearly see the guy reach for the gun of the cop that eventually tazes him. If this guy would have gotten a gun in his hands he would be dead now. The cops did him a favor.
Edit: It happens at about 2:48 on the video at the beginning of this thread. You can see him reaching for the cop's gun. I can't be the only person who noticed that.
I live in TN and I stay hot all summer, my junk has never tried to go home because of it. My guess would be a lot of NO NO WORD!!! use.
True, but I've been to both Bonnaroo and Coachella.
Only at Coachella did I think I'd fall victim to heat stroke, though I'd assume over the past five years they've improved the mist/shade tent situation and actually gotten vendors who can keep water in stock.
I'm pretty sure the Coachella high temperature trumps the Bonnaroo high temperature.

Does anyone remember the naked guy of 2004 or 2005? (cant remember which year. I have pictures somewhere) This guy was obviously out of his gourd as he was running around not only naked but stopping to squat and shit every 5 feet like a dog. The more medics that surrounded him trying to take him down the more scared he got and started to resist. He finally got wrestled to the ground and there were some onlookers that were yelling at the medics to let him go....point is its illegal to be naked and just because that may make your festival better, its probably making other people uncomfortable. I had no problem with it until dude started droppin deuce all over the grass where I could potentially be sitting later. Morale of the story: Dont do drugs kids
talk about quacking up the experience for not just naked guy, but for everyone watching.
I kept thinking about this when I was watching it. Once you see that, it's going to be on your mind for, at least, the rest of that day. Kind of a bummer for those people.
For some people.....it will be a bummer. But not everyone is affected by events the same way. I bet a large majority of the people who witnessed this will tell it just like anyone else who has seen something crazy at a festival. It will be a funny story like "Oh man....and then this day this guy was out of his mind and fighting with the cops cuz he was naked. he had a small weiner and then got tazed but kept fighting back. it was crazy bro" and go about their day.
Some will leave it feeling worse. Some will leave it feeling better now that they have a cool "you had to be there" story about the crazy thing they saw at the music festival
