I like both these posters, but they really are gigantic. The top half of both posters seems pretty ridiculous, like someone just went through their itunes library and put down every band they had. But Island in the sky is more practical, add to that Pavement (even though they got shafted on poster placement) and no Lady Gaga (yea I noticed it hiding on Hochelaga) and there goes my vote.

Man, I can't wait to see your critique on my lineup then lol.

Haha, that's why I'm glad this stuff is anonymous til the end, then we can judge it based on merits of the poster and not just like "oh such and such totally insulted my poster, I'm not going to vote for their poster."
This is a really good way to tide the time until roo, and it also gives me a new appreciation for what AC/Superfly do, I can't imagine having to really put on a festival.

i really wish i could read that orange text, ben kweller is cool, incubus is reallly really low, they are headlining material. Weezer is kind of funny, love the blue album to death, but i've heard horrendous things about their live performance. Beatles reincarnation is genius, they could headline each night.
How are you supposed to get to the island if its in the sky??
hochelaga has a pretty deep lineup. but the poster is very unattractive. i can't even read the names in yellow. but this doesn't matter anyway, because island in the sky has an amazing lineup. and it's in hawaii. island in the sky by a landslide.
The Beatles would be craaaazy. I would go just for that. I think Island In The Sky has a better lineup but it's kind of over the top. Hawaii would be neat though. Hochelaga gets my vote, nice weather and the quacking Beatles.

Island in the Sky wins, barely. The Almost Beatles and NWA are awesome ideas to headline a festival but Island has a few more top-level bands that I'd want to see. Both look very good and this was a very tough call for me.

It's so hard to judge these things. I'm debating between idealism and realism. There are so many "headliners" on each of these festivals (and the other contests going on) that none of them are feasible. And then there are the posters, the middle acts, the location, the feasibility of traveling, etc. So hard. Also some very odd choices about which are acts are bigger on the poster/order than others. In the Hawaii one, Earth and Return to Forever are ridiculously high on the list, but Spiritualized and Eddie Vedder are ridiculously low. Same with Spoon & Metric and Margaret Cho & Atmosphere on the other one.

Hawaii would be great to go to, but I'm not about to drop money on plane tickets when I'm already gonna be spending tons of money on festival tickets to see this lineup. I'm not a huge fan of the 'woo, great location' thing. I mean, if you've got a great idea for a location, that's one thing, but if it makes it difficult to access, you've shot yourself in the foot.
But I'm not huge on either of these. They look like just a bunch of big names on a page. Would Jay-Z, Tool, Oasis, and Green Day even fit in one festival? And what the fuck is Ringo doing still around? Shouldn't he be dead or something?

I'm gonna have to go with Island in the Sky. There are only a few acts on that line up I wouldn't want to see... which sucks for conflicts but conflicts== a love/hate relationship for me. Seeing Do Make Say Think hiding out at the bottom really did it for me. Although realistically I could never afford tickets for a festival that stellar on top of plane tickets and whatnot... since these are pretend festivals I can pretend that I'm fucking rich
Although there are some awesome acts on Hochelaga, there are also some really bad ones... as well as the poster not being very legible. Island==landslide.
I voted IitS regardless but at what point do we have to think about how realistic the location is? How many of us would be able to go to a music festival in Hawaii? Its not so much a deal here because the opponent's festival is in Montreal, which is also a bit of a trip away from most of us but yeah....just a thought.
I think it's funny that someone would name a festival after one of the rougher areas of Montreal (where most of the 90's biker wars happened).... also where the Expos used to play. It's also a very similar name to the existing festival here Osheaga, which is believed to be the root native word that Hochelaga comes from. Anyway, enough about that, I voted for Hochelaga. It's got a good lineup and the location works very well for me...especially if they use Parc Jean Drapeau which is one of the best outdoor venues I have ever been to. It has a beautiful view of the skyline in the background across the water.

I gotta go with Island in the Sky. I love the Beatles idea, and there are lots of things to like about Hochelaga, but with Primus, Outkast, TMV, Tom Waits, and George Clinton all on the Island's lineup, and with it being in Hawaii, that would be a total dream (although, as some have said, maybe not a totally realistic one).
