Freeze some bottled water (bring a little knife), cut them open and put the frozen water into your camel back. Then, put cold bottles of water in it and some powdered Gatorade, and you're good.
As for alcohol, I'd say stick with beer... liquor can turn into a bad idea.

I usually don't bring in liquor, but I do like to bring in a box or two of pinot grigio or chardonnay. A nice cold glass of white wine can be quite refreshing on a hot day.

^I bought the orange flavor lastnight at WalMart. I had one this morning with my protein bar and it wasn't that bad in flavor and texture. I think Emergen-C will become a staple at my house.

damn i should have drank one for my hangover this morning...no time for much though forgot to set the alarm and woke up exactly when I should have been at work...I might have to hit up Walgreens at lunch. That would be sweet if they sold them in singles.
I think someone in this thread asked about bringing a cooler in to Centeroo. Here's a response I received:
"Thanks for getting in touch. There is no per person limit on alcohol provided that is in plastic bottles or cans (no glass containers or kegs!). Coolers are fine with the sealed water bottles. See you in June!"

has anyone tried the Black Box Wine is it really "not bad"? I normally grill steaks one night and would love a decent glass of Cab. while I was on the farm.
I agree that the cold lemonade they sell (or if you can stand to make genuine lemonade) is AWESOME for the hot days. We went to Virgin Festival and between the water and a couple lemonades, we didn't care that it was 100 degrees all day. Followed with some Red Bull / Tequila spritzers at sunset and life was good.

Man I live in Maryland i know oh too well about those 100 degree with 85% humidity.

I think that applies to general camping and not actual Centeroo? They have not allowed coolers/beer/alcohol into the actual venue in past years. Ha! I could save a ton of money if this is true! (Serious doubt on this one...)

Yeah, I'm with Bunny... them allowing coolers into Centeroo sounds WAAAY too good to be true... That would be so freakin' awesome though!

^ we took a little lunch-box sized cooler with waterbottles in 07 with no problem. They searched it like crazy. Last year I decided water would rehydrate wether it was hot or cold so I just tossed a few bottles in the backpack.
Cold water is not as good for hydration as room temperature. The prevailing theory being that the cold water causes the blood vessels surrounding stomach to shrink, slowing absorption.
Of course it's not universally accepted and people may drink more water if it's cold because it tastes better. So all things being equal, drink room temp water. But if water being warm will make you drink less, drink it cold.
And on a personal note, I drink whiskey all day and chase it with warm water. That way I can keep a low buzz and stay hydrated --> no hangovers or burnouts. Just my system.
This is the original e-mail I sent, which specifically mentions Centeroo:
"There are a number of people inquiring as to the per person limit on beer and alcohol at Bonnaroo, but we can't seem to locate this information anywhere on the website. Can you help?
Also, are small coolers with ice permitted in to Centeroo (so long as they contain nothing but the allowable sealed water bottles)? Many thanks."

It's not that bad, but I think it's a bit overpriced for how not-bad it is. I love the "Pinot Evil" Pinot Noir, but I don't really know of any good boxed Cabs that I've tried.

this is just silly. the only reason to drink warm wateris if you're running a marathon, that youve trained 9 months for and are worrying about a leg cramp that would ruin your day. (whereas at roo, you can take a seat, puff one, and be on your way)they "hydrate" the same amount. The cold water could shrink blood vessels like somebody else said, but to a very small degree- causing cramps not lessening hydration. immaterial difference. this is over analysis
just as important as your hydration is body temp, and cold water is 100x better at keeping you cold than warm water.
if youre concerned about health, cold is the way to go. obviosuly neither is bad, and warm is often more convenient. but drinking warm when cold is available, is just silly unless you dont like how cold water "tastes".
also a trick ilearned from a soccer coach who played professionally in brazil or columbia (i was like 10;his son was onthe team). hold a frozen/ice cold drink to your neck righ by where you would check your pulse. the most concentrated are of blood vessels. pumps "cold blood" to the rest of your body. this will really cool you down quick. watch out for the brain freeze though

^^ to the cold water posters above. Cold water will def cool you down more, but I do not believe it hydrates you any faster. Water is water. I have to make my patients drink a liter of water 20 minutes before I perform their exam. People who drink refrigerated water literally shiver throughout the exam. Others who drink room temp water are comfortable, although really full. So I guess if you are wanting a cooling effect, drink ice cold h2o.
