I live a few miles away from Nashville in Lebanon. Can anyone help me with directions? I went in 2006 and took I-24 all the way, got redirected and ended up in BFE. I would like to avoid all of that this year. My husband and I were looking at a map and discovered route 41 to 55 and were wondering if that is a better way to go. I noticed on other threads it was mentioned, but not in great detail. Does anyone have clear directions going that way? Where exactly would 55 take us in regards to getting in? I would seriously appreciate any help....it would surely help me avoid the arguments that would ensue if left purely between myself, My husband and a map....
Forgive me if there is already a thread on this, the search function was not working very well for me. Who all here is from Nashville like me?
Well I live in Nashville although I am not sure I am like you I am married, in my 40s and the mother of a teenager, but I am totally of the Bonnaroo vibe.

Anyone in Nashville know of anything interesting going on this weekend? I am traveling through the area. I will also probably be leaving for Roo from here so I figured I post in this thread too, but I'm from Jersey so please be gentle.
I'm willing to meet up if anyone has a desire to. I love meeting inforoo'ers.

In fact in about ten minutes I am headed over to the Yazoo Brewery to hoist a few any fellow Nashvillians feel free to join me, I will be there until 5:30 or so it is great Friday cocktails spot. If you show up just ask the bartenders for Jesse, and they will point you to me.
I find it amazing how many people live in Nashville and do not attend Bonnaroo. I tell people I am going and they ask me why?
Same here! From my experience, most people equate Bonnaroo with no no words. They find it really funny that I go until I start to describe what it's really like... then they slowly back away because they realize how nuts I am
When I was in Nashville last year before Bonnaroo, I talk to multiple waitresses/waiters/bartenders who didn't even know what it was. How can people who are so close be so unaware of it. There were so many people in town that were going and I assume that it was the same in all of the previous years

Whats really neat, is to do some last minute shopping for Roo on Wednesday night. You'll see random out of town rooers damn near everywhere. its pretty surreal. So if you live in Nashville or anywhere close...get your supplies early!

Yep this is very true. I could not find one of those little mini water fans anywhere the week before

I live in Murfreesboro. I lived in Nashville for about 3 years.
It is really sad how many people in this area that do not care anything about Bonnaroo. I have more friends from out of state coming in for it than the people I know that actually live here.

This is how I initially found out about Roo in 2002. Shopping at Costco in Cool Springs. We knew something was up when we spotted some "hippie types" buying cases of water at the checkout. Very unusual and refreshing to say the least. We had a newborn at the time, so we were totally out of the loop.
Been going since 2003 though. Can't imagine missing it. We're both 40 with 2 kids (and we feel like 2 kids). Checking out Rothbury this year too.
People do tend to be shocked that we go every year. Especially our kids teachers who always get notified on a "what are you doing this summer?" report, which always entails what they will do with the grandparents while we are at Bonnaroo - complete with drawings of the arch.
Our UPS guys says he delivers lots of tickets on his route. Probably many to music industry folks.

jh i think i actually met you at the brunch last year????? please shout at me....i love to make new friends!! the greenways are really fun over here. theres a ton to do
From the 'Boro here! I've watched how the Murfreesboro/Tullahoma/Manchester area gets busy the week of 'Roo for the past 7 years so I've already purchased all my supplies with the exception of 4 food-type things (bread, peanut butter, juice and ice).
I've also experienced incredulous reactions from many of locals here (I'm originally from Knoxville/Maryville). Even my Associate Director at work stated "i wouldn't be caught dead at Bonnaroo," which I thought was pretty funny. I guess it's not for everyone but I love festivals!
