Since people have been comparing the heat of various Roos, I looked up the hottest day of each Roo and the humidity and posted them below. If the front moves north, this could easily be the hottest Roo ever. If the front stays south, this could be one of the best ever. Flip a coin as to which will happen.
For reference, 2007 was the hottest year in absolute temperature but 2004 felt the hottest.
2002 89(91) 59avg 46min (muggy)
2003 84(87) 88avg 54min (muggy)
2004 93(97) 76 avg 43min (hot, muggy,monsoon)
2005 82(81) 47avg 30 min (overcast, drizzle)
2006 95(94) 57avg 27min (drought)
2007 97 (94) 54avg 22min (bad drought)
2008 92(91) 84avg 31min (drought)
Note on calculations: Since warm air can hold more water than cold, relative humidity (RH) decreases as temperature rises. This is why the RH is usually lowest in the heat of the day and max at night (that’s why dew/fog comes at night). For that reason I used the daily min RH to calculate heat index. I also listed avg RH as it gives an idea of night temp drops (cooler nights w/ lower RH), amount of dew and general mugginess.
Remember to not only seam seal your tents, but also place a heavy duty tarp underneath your tent for further water protection. I just bought a tarp at Wal-Mart for $10.88.
This is really important. In fact, you can just buy a big roll of heavy plastic sheathing and use a blade to cut it just a little bit bigger than the base of your tent... then roll the outsides of the plastic underneath the tent after you have set it up. This works well to keep the bottom of your tent dry, and push the rain away from your tent during storms. Works like a charm.
Make sure when you roll the edges down, you roll them under the plastic, and not above, if that makes sense. You're trying to avoid pooling water here.
Do not kill, do not rape, do not steal, these are principles that every man of every faith can embrace. These are not polite suggestions, these are codes of behavior and those of you that ignore them will pay the dearest cost.

I could care less what the weather is going to be like honestly. I'm gonna be there no matter what, and I'll enjoy it fully. Rain, sleet, snow, dust, humidity, whatever. It can't possibly be worse than 04

Thank god the weather is shaking out. I was getting a bit down looking at thunderstorms all day. If it stays warm and overcast, thats fine with me, then you aren't baking under direct sunlight. Take that as you will.
