Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
Ya know what, you people can "custie" me all ya want... who cares? How does it really affect anything, anyway? I've been using this site now for a couple weeks, and I've met some cool people.. but about 75% of you seem to just hate the world and I don't understand it. I post my opinion and get attacked. Why? WTF are your problems? Even stuff that isn't my opinion.. POLLS where I want OTHER people's opinions.. people get pissed off. I don't get it.
I'm about ready to say f'ck it and stop using this site. You people need to stop taking yourselves so seriously and spread the Roo love, not hate on me for speaking my mind! I'm interested in your opinions, you don't have to be an a'hole about everything.
Anyone else have this problem too or is it just me?
HUH? I haven't been on Inforoo much for the last few days (had ankle surgery last Wednesday)
Don't let the random few get to you - there are a bunch of new people at this time of year - stick around - those of us that have been around for awhile are not like that - this is actually a really nice and chill community most of the time.
Oh don't get me wrong, I've talked to some nice people... but there are definitely some Negative Nancies out there. Thanks for the encouragement, though.
I found the thread you were talking about - as I said before - don't pay any attention to them and don't let them run you off either. (oh and don't forget to come by access camping one morning - look for the Camp Custie banner - we'll feed you breakfast!)

I think its a matter of internet vs. reality. If you met most of us in real life, we'd be a lot more relaxed and friendly. All of us would probably get along a lot better because we all have so much in common, loving bonnaroo and music in general. However on this site it's easy to see something as confrontational when it's merely a matter of disagreeing with someone. Don't see it as a matter of people disliking you, have a thicker skin.
I must chime in here, this is something that I am seeing more and more on message boards. It seems people are just becoming less tolerant of others and more offended or offensive. I dont get it. Even the College football thread I visit, its like non stop bickering...for stupid stuff..I wonder if this is a growing trend?
As my Inebriated buddy walks out of the Porto, he yells out, "Dude...I love this place...bonnaroo thinks about everything...they even put beer holders next to the toilet!"
Had to break it to him that that was the urnal. Good times good times!

You're right. I do tend to take things too personally. I think it's just easier for people to misread things or be insulting to people with the anonymity of the internet.

This Bonnaroo lineup is in dire need of some Rush.

Making a thread to complain about the people who complain about threads you create? it's blowing my mind.
lol but seriously it has to do with the internet. people are more free to hate/criticize without being asked for a rational reason.
Like some others have stated.......don't take it too personally. It's just an internet message board. There are "ignore" functions if specific users annoy you. Also....it's your choice to be here. I get fed up with the negative stuff about how Roo has sold out or how the lineup sucks or this or that.......but I stay for the quality posters and great information. If it really starts to bother you how people post on here you can easily stop visiting the site.
But you shouldn't stop visiting the site merely because of a few run-ins with people. Just do like Meg says and stick around.....there's a great amount of helpful and conversational people on here. don't let it get to you.
i have pretty much become a lurker over the last few months because of my frustation of this... nothing worth gettin' upset about tho, it is just the internets. i come for the information and my loyalty to our roo.
If you don't like negativity on Inforoo, I have three simple pieces of advice: 1) Before posting or starting a new topic, read other posts and other threads the best you can to make sure you're not just repeating something someone else has said before you. 2) Do not post in the Troo Music Lounge or in threads about politics, sports or religion if you don't feel like getting in heated arguments. 3) If you are blitz out of your mind on corn, I suggest sticking to the random thoughts thread. I cannot tell you how many times someone who is clearly high has accused other people of being negative because they took a joke the wrong way. Internet sarcasm and corn do not mix very well.

I hear ya, man. I still lurk around but at this time of year this place is out of control. I think a lot of new members have never been to roo so they don't really understand "the vibe" that is there and (for the most part) here, too.
I like to lay kinda low during peak season and I find myself becoming more active in the off season. For instance, I log in everyday and until now, my last post was May 8th. The new threads may be few and far between during the fall/winter but the quality of argue free conversations is much more valuable.
I really hope this doesn't come off as pretentious or snobby but stick around and you'll see what I mean.

i wanted to say something like this, but didnt know really how to say it, without sounding snobby, but you said it perfectly bek. it gets crazy before roo and it definitely calms down about a month after. i was on here since jan last year and at least that is my experience.
