I don't know about ya'll but now that we're under a month, the countdown ticker makes me anxious (because of all of the things I have left to do before Roo) and very excited too. Everytime I cross one thing off of my list, two more appear in it's place. So as we've been busy doing all of these chores in preparation, I thought I'd share a couple of things that probably eleviated some headache down the road. Am looking for things I might have forgotten too.
Clean grill and check regulator to make sure it works! Found out it's leaking and needed teflon
Get the vehicle serviced - oh, thank god we did that. Tires, engine, trans, and many other items needed attended to that could have caused numerous probs
Put up canopies to make sure all stakes and ropes, etc are still there in the bag
Clean out the camelback bladders with baking soda as they were not properly stored and were NASTY
Already packed backpack with this that and other so I don't have to do it at Roo
Figure out how to use the new sh** that we bought to take so we're not trying to erect things / read instruct. when it's not desirable to do so
Make sure headlights, flashlights, radios, etc have working batteries and work themselves
Call around to find out who has dry ice, when I can get, and how much it will cost for what I need
Make sure camera disks are empty
Arrange for pet care
Oh, I need help with this one. The flagpole......does anyone have advice on how to get that sucker in the ground without making a huge fuss? Our's is 15 ft tall (outta ground)
Let's hear from the rest of you guys. I know you're busy too.

--- Put up screen house to make sure it's ok --- Buy odds-n-ends such as sunscreen, water, duct tape, cameras, etc.... --- pack camping equipment --- lose 50lbs. (not gonna happen) --- make huge bank transaction before I leave --- get a haircut
Still need to stock up on PLENTY of beer, hopefully my comrades can throw in. Need a camelpack(back?) Need to get the food Need a tent. And I said I was gonna buy an extra car battery, but I dunno about that.

assuming your flagpole is pvc, cut the bottom end at a slant and use a mallet to hammer it in the ground a foot or so. this is what i plan on doing for the center pole under my tarp.
hmm, need to add * Find a new job to my list.. I just found out I'm being laid off due to funding.. This isn't really a bad thing for me, I have an opportunity to find a much better job with better pay, the timing is just horrid for the roo though
Sorry to hear about the job wooz. Are you not one of those computer geeks? You won't have a problem getting another one.
Yes, I am, and I don't see a problem finding another one.. but in I.T. especially it is very hard to find a job that will give you vacation time straight off
I'm going to push for severance pay, and I may apply for unemployment.. I've missed out on the roo so many times, I'm GOING this year! Ticket paid for, gear aquired, plane ticket aquired, its happening!

This is an idea we got somewhere on here and I don't know where --- thanks to someone though. We are using two of these for one end of our shade tent.
Cut a 2x8 or 2x6 about 3 feet long. The following items can be found in a plumbing department- less than $15. Screw in a galvanized flange (shown in pictures) at one end. They come in different sizes - we used one inch. The size you get depends on the size of your pole - get one size smaller than the size of your pole. See how the inside of the hole is threaded? You can screw in a galvanized pipe which is also threaded. (not shown) They come in many lengths to over 5 feet. We used 5 footers for added strength. Screw it in the flange hole. Drive your car over the other end of the board to hold it down (note tire track, yes we practiced). Slip your flagpole over the top. No digging.
You still might need to use some sort of tie downs with stakes attached to the flagpole itself to further stabilize it.

Car Serviced get gas cap get new pair of shades get new music for drive
Shop for food and Beer ( Beer is capitalized on purpose )
We had Planaroo last night, made all lists, figured out who's driving, figure out who has what already, etc. A good reason to chill and drink and talk about 'Roo and truly feel it's right around the corner, cause IT IS!!!!

do it, unemployment is the sh*t, i started at a company last year and after 2 months it was shut down. yay for free $350 a week while i was looking for a new job!
set up canopies and checked them (one old and one new - I love the new one)
We still need to:
set up tents seam seal and waterproof tents inflate air matress and fix the hole we discovered last year (tomorrow) buy more water (tomorrow) go thru the plastic tubs from last year and inventory what we have (Sunday) Have Planaroo with the crew going (will do that this week)
Before we know it - the tickets will be here and then we will be on the way!
Need to get the pop up out and summerize it. Vehicle is new, so that better not be a problem. Everything else I ordered has arrived. Looking good, just hope those bonnaroo people get my ticket and rv pass order right. Sorry wooz about the job, also looking at company down sizing. I don't think I'm on the list, but if I am, F the F'ing bastards to hell! I don't give a sh@t I'm going to BONNAROO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i guess this list, as bereaved as it's going to be, is for myself, since i haven't started one, but have been thinking about it for weeks, hah.
-Take care of a tire. -Have a serpantine belt tightened -A/C serviced -start packing my main backpack -Set up my tent a coupla times -make a drug-store list and then visit the drugstore. all i've on the list so far is water, Goldbond, band-aids, toilet paper, sunscreen. -Make a list of things not to forget at the last minute: Sunglasses, the Bonnaroo hat! Eyedrops.. -Decide which tennis shoes to bring: not so comfy but old and ruinable, or newer, beloved, more comfy, but will be disheartened to destroy. Make some compiled CD's for the drive down and back.

I have to buy a small backpack to carry stuff to shows, buy sunscreen and other necessities like that, and then invent a time machine so I can just skip these next 25 days of agonizing waiting.
