This was one of the first I ever got. No relation to my family, except maybe my half sister, who lives in Florida and was a 'dancer' at one point. Now shes a physical massage therapist. I got her number but havn't talked in awhile.
I can hook you up if you want. She's a sweet woman really. *shakes head no*
When I started to worked at a coffee shop down the street from the state capital,I once charged Jim for an iced mocha. I was informed that 'We don't charge the Governor for his coffee'. I smiled and laughed. My reply was 'I don't care if he's the Pope or the President ... You come in my line you pay for your coffee.'
I turned to him and said 'Nothing personal. I voted for you.' Thank god he lauhed. And he did pay.
To be honest I like Webb better than Warner. Warner did the state good but I feel like it was to better his political career.
What Trucker song will you be disappointed if you don't here tomorrow/today ?
And, assuming you've seen them more than once or twice, which one will you be disappointed if you do ?
Careless. God I live that song. If you don't know it I say check it out.
I've seen that band so much over the years. The first time I saw them was right after Pizza Deliverance came out in 99'. I have to say the one song that I dont care for is The Night G.G. Allin Came to Town. I'm just not a fan of that song. Ugh.
Yeah-though I appreciate the spirit, and it's place as a closer, the "People Who Died" cover is a bit tired at this point, for me, at least. Been diggin' the Zevon they pull out occasionally, as far as covers are concerned. And I enjoyed the rendition of a lackluster Band song, "Lookout Cleveland", that the fellas did with the Hold Steady on the last tour. But the a capella "Bulldozers and Dirt" from the Dirt Underneath tour is one of my faves.

Wow, I suddenly have a whole new sense of appreciation for all those free cups of joe I got back when you were my local barista. Take that, Jim Webb! ;D
I guess I need to contribute a question...
If you could run your own business, what would it be? What would you name it, and assuming you'd offer beer on tap regardless of what kind of business it'd be, what four drafts would you always have on tap throughout the year (assuming that any beer nationwide would be accessible for you regardless of location)

Ironically enough I really don't want a bar. VA ABC laws are so fucked now adays that any new bar is on an uphill battle out of the box. My idea is a cereal store. Thats right cereal. It's called Cereal Killers and we use coffee bean bins to let you mix and match a bowl of cereal. Add your own milk. Soy,2%,skim,or whole and sit down to eat. Face it. I'm gonna wear pj's to work one day.

8/22 Drive By Truckers / Tift Merrit 8/29 The Hold Steady 9/26 Lucinda Williams 10/1 U2 10/06 Grizzly Bear 10/07 Brandi Carlisle 10/21 The Gaslight Anthem 11/06 Monsters Of Folk
If each of these shows prime you for the next, you're gonna be a wreck by November ! That's a very tasty agenda....
MMmmmm Tift Merrit....
DBT+Hold Steady is one hell of a kickoff, though. Your own personal Rock and Roll Means Well stint but with full shows of each band !
Thank you sir. ;D Alot of driving in the next few weeks. The only Richmond show is the Gaslight Anthem. I may say quack it and go see Alice Cooper too. But thats a game time decision. The big news is I'm planning to hit The Yazoo Brewery next month. Will Hodge is playing at the Mercy Lounge. I havnt seen him since the accident. Seems good enough for me. ;D
Jess and Druid get ready!!!!

Ok, so if you did happen to run your own bar...
Which 4 beers would you have on draft all year long, and which seasonal brew would you have special each season of the year? (1 beer per season is all I'm really asking, but if you are split in your decision I'd allow multiple seasonals )

Yes. It was and is a southern state. I know this because of the insane ammount of Confederate Flags worn on tshirts with the motto "The South Will Rise Again"
New South .... Whatever that means. What I wonder is if WVAers considers themselves southern or not.
The definition of southern state has and continues to change. At the start of the Union Maryland was considered a southern state. They put DC where it is because the southern states wanted it in the south. In fact the Mason-Dixon line is the border of PA and MD.
But Wolfman uses what, in my opinion, is the most applicable definition; the Civil War. But that means KY is not a southern state so...
West Virginia is a Yankee st, it is the 13 counties that refused to secede during the War of Northern Aggression.
I find it absolutely absurd that southerners refer to the Civil War as "the war of norther aggressions". If I move to TX will I start doing this too? ???

No if you move to TX you will still be a Yankee, albeit one in TX. I do it more jokingly than seriously myself, usually only when in discussions about who qualifies as a Yankee or not.
