^^^You could just slam your hand into brick wall really hard and bruise/break your hand a little bit. Then it wouldn't bad karma at all, and your efforts and determination would be valued by your entire crew. Hell, you don't really need both your hands to rage properly anyways!
well since this seems to be the hot thread...would it be a scumbag move to use a friend's father's handicapped thing to get 2 cars into access? Last year was BFE and was not FUN.
They randomly run the ID Plackard on the bottom of the ID with BMV thats why they only recognize state issued placards. Last year they sent a car away, as in out of bonnaroo grounds for trying that.
Aww guys - I know dasclyde does not post alot over here - but he is on Inforoo and he is a good guy - truly - he is joking around about using someone else's placard

yes - you would be a scumbag to use someone else's placard to get into access if you don't need it - it would be bad juju and bad karma all rolled into one and the karma will come back to bite you on the ass!
you totally used "bad juju" in a sentence...you are officially awesome in my eyes

LMAO - you made me really LOL this morning - my co-workers now wonder if I am losing it.

I'm gonna go with this to save face!
but yeah I decided that it would be a bad idea and of course it would be me that the bad karma would break something on me and prevent bonnaroo.... just gonna hope I don't get bfe'd again and if I do so be it! it's bonnaroo I don't even care as long as I am there.

To whoever asked about getting handicapped parking, its difficult if not damn near impossible to get it with just a ankle sprain. Getting it for two cars, no way. I volunteered on the access team for Bonnaroo last year and they don't give out those passes very easy. It's funny because last year I severely sprained my ankle about 10 days before roo last year. It was really bad, but I just stayed off it for as much as I could before going and then just toughed it out. I got a pretty good ankle brace and wore it the whole time and brought a cane with me everywhere. I also went by myself and had no one to help me around. You should be fine. You'd be surprised how little your ankle hurts when your body just needs to dance.

if you have a state issued handicapped placard - they really don't have a choice but to let you camp in access - as long as you can prove it belongs to you
and if your doctor decides that your sprain is bad enough to warrant a placard - they will fill the paperwork out for you to get one. Bonnaroo is not who decides who is disabled and who is not - that is your doctor's call

A handicap placard is not justified for an ankle sprain.
I guess it depends on how bad it is and if the doctor is willing to fill the papers out for the placard. I know my ortho surgeon would for me - but I have a history of ankle issues
A handicap placard is not justified for an ankle sprain.
Not sure about the ankle sprain but they ADA has very, VERY loose guidelines for the definition of disability. Included are people that have difficulty keeping track of money, using the telephone, and doing light housework. And as of January 1st the Americans with Disabilities Act Amendments Act of 2008 became law. That made the definition of disability even more broad. Now having Diabetes or ADD makes you qualified among a bunch of other things.
Its like most things, if you try to get a placard and jump through the right hoops anyone can get one.

Good luck getting one. (although, I still don't think an ankle sprain would warrant being handicapped) I work in healthcare and have spoken with many patients who couldn't get them and could barely stand on their own two feet. Maybe they just weren't willing to put forth the effort to jump through all the hoops. It's all up to the MD.

I have to chime in here. I have crappy feet, steroid shots in the bottom of them crappy feet. Luckily I have a podiatrist who goes to Jazzfest so last year when I was telling him about Roo and freaking out about how far I might have to go he offered two options 1) Don't go or 2) Get a temporary handicap placard.
The way he explained it was that the placard isn't for grocery shopping or going to the mall but it is for a situation where the struggle to do all the walking could both ruin the experience and worsen the injury. I've used it for Roo and for a theme park when we took the kids. Explain your situation and see what the doc says.
I know plenty of people that have gotten them from the local doctors care. I'm not weighing in on the morality of it, just saying that I know for a fact its pretty easy if you go to your local chop shop md.
On the morning of what was supposed to be my very first concert ever (Judas Priest, NY, 1986) ... I dislocated my knee getting out of bed. Missed the concert altogether. My friend went and someone else used my ticket.
Get to Roo at all, and you will be having a fantastic time by comparison.

Sorry, I wasn't aware that you could get a temporary placard. That would be cool and make the experience much more enjoyable. Personally, I wouldn't get one. I'd tough it out if it is truly just an ankle sprain. But if someone is that injured, camping a little closer is not going to make that much of a difference considering how much walking/standing is done in Centeroo. There's always taxis for transpo. But we haven't heard from the dude who started this thread. How's the ankle?
