I was lying in a burned out basement With the full moon in my eyes. I was hoping for replacement When the sun burst thru the sky. There was a band playing in my head And I felt like getting high.
^^ ^^ we also have paper lanterns from the party store, take 2xAAA and work great. also found little plastic monkey ones this year at the dollar store. try there i'd say for the cheapest option that still looks cool.
Product Features 20 lights to each set 160 lights Bright Battery operated 4 Colored lights
Have you actually gotten these yet? I'm just curious as how well they work and how many and type of batteries it takes.
I got an e-mail saying they shipped two days ago, not sure if it will be delayed because of the holiday... I'll let you know, the description was kinda vague, but it seems like a lot of lights for the cost...

It definitely looks like a good deal for the amount of lights you get...Thanks for the update and looking forward to a review.
The set I bough from Lowes actually has 3 lights and 1 solar panel. They have quite long wires, so I will zip-tie each in an interior corner and throw the solar panel on top of the EZ-up during the day!
If you're looking for an actual light source, the Coleman rechargeable lanterns are great. We used ours a fair amount last year and it held the charge the entire weekend. We got decorate LED lights to string around the canopy this year, too (but they're electrical, not battery-operated).

Has anyone ever used those disk shaped lights that hang from the middle of the tent? They have a bunch of LEDs or something on the sides and are wonderful at lighting up a large area without blinding anyone.

Would like to know this too. I was eyeing these up at Dick's. I'm currently goin with propane lanterns as they work really well and probably will last longer/cost less than battery powered lights

The light rope at WalMart is outlet powered only. I went to get it for our canopy and was told this by a worker in that department. I instead got a pack of 4 LED lights that click onto the top of the canopy. They run off of AAA batteries. The pack of 4 cost $15. I thought it was pretty good bargain. They're located in the Outdoor area in WalMart if anyone is interested.
Sooo the lights came in! First reaction was kinda of crappy, because each strand of these little buggers needs 4 AA batteries (I was hoping for 2). YUCK! Also they don't give off a TON of light, and unlike the description there are NOT 4 colors, only one... White... The only nice thing is that they are small, and 1 strand just about fits a side of my 10x10 canopy. I put batteries in 4 strings and strung them up outside on my EZ-UP and will leave them on all night (potentially longer) to see how long they last. Once I got the four strands up it was kind of nice, the combination of multiple packs helped light up the EZ-UP... If they don't end up sucking the 8 strands will light the 4 sides of the EZ-UP and the 4 middle posts that connect to the center, and it will look sweet!!
Here's some pics!
8 strands = 32 AA batteries... Which is awful! So overall unless they last 4 days+ on the 4 batteries, I might recommend a pass of this product. I'll update tomorrow, as well as when they die off!

I bought two of these for this year. They look like they should work well. I guess we'll find out in 2 weeks!

I bought 2 of these for my ez-up. They are very bright and seem like they will work well.

I picked up four Field and Stream brand camp lights from Dick's Sporting Goods for $9.99 a piece. They take 4 AA batteries each and have 24 bright white LED lights. It says they last for 30 hours on 4AA batteries but I haven't gotten the chance to test that. I have tested the lights themselves and its a perfect amount of light for my 10x10 EZup. It has a place to hang from the canopy and has an on/off button.
There are tons os solar spot lights available at the home centers. I found several varieties at BigLots for $4 a piece. I'm also bringing a coleman lantern for the camp table.
I just bought these and they work pretty good. You get 4 strands for $16.99. I bought 8 strands. There are 10 lights on each strand. And they only take 2 AA batteries. They give off a good amount of light too.
I got some solar powered garden lights at Walmart. The started at $1.50 each and go up to maybe $4-$5. Figure they'll be good for marking perimeters, guylines, etc...
