So apparently a lot of people want to see Gomez, yet no one opened up a thread from what I can tell.
I expect Gomez to be an awesome start to Bonnaroo Friday and am considering the Sonic Stage Gomez show instead of Animal Collective.
For those of you who havent heard their new album "A New Tide" it is awesome. Go and listen to Airstream Driver or Little Pieces on their myspace page.
they're really really good. Gomez/Toubab Krewe is a big conflict for me, I think the decider is going to be how hot it is (Gomez on a stage or toubab in a tent)

this. i've heard very little from both bands, but i like what I've heard. Airstream Driver vs. Hang Tan
2/5- Papadosio 3/3- MUSE 3/12- John Mayer 3/19- The Werks 3/31- Passion Pit 4/18- Ben Folds 4/20- Against Me! 6/10- Bonnaroo 6/30- Eric Clapton and Roger Daltrey
I like what I've heard of theirs, but I have never really tried to get into them to be honest. What album/show should I start with?
If the show they played here in March is similar to what they do at roo they will be playing songs from How We Operate. At least 3 or 4, if they keep the set list similar. How We Operate, Girl Shaped Love Drug, See the World and Hamoa Beach.
Gomez is one of my favorite bands. I saw them in a tent at roo in 06 and and it's awesome they have a stage this year. And I'm super excited about the Sonic Stage performance.
Airstream Driver is not the best song on the new album, by far. imho.
I really like the new record and had to leave their '06 set early in order to catch Beck, so I'm glad I get to see the full show this time. Should be a great way to kick off Friday

I'd say Mix, Win Park Slope, If I Ask You Nicely, Bone Tired, & Natural Selection are all better songs than Airstream Driver... and my favorite song on the new album is Win Park Slope. That song drives me crazy!
^^^ Yeah, I kinda feel the same way and I think their new stuff is borderline lame (no real teeth), but who else are you gonna check out in their opening spot on Friday? I have no candidates, and I think they'll be a great 'Roo opener. Plus, my wife has never seen them, nor has my brother....

I LOVE Gomez... but I won't be missing any Katzenjammer to see them. I'll catch the tail end of their set. I'm glad I saw them in March. They put on a hell of a show.
Liquid Skin is an amazing album. It is easily one of my favorites of all time. Its 10 years old though. I plan on seeing them in hopes that they will play maybe one or two tracks from this period.
I saw them on their 'Split the Different' tour which is also a good album. I haven't heard all of their new stuff but I feel that it is not up to par with previous works.
None-the-less my wife and I will be checking out most of their set. They were the first show we ever saw together. And they are a fun high-energy live show. At least they were 4 years ago.
