What the heck is up with the Chuck Norris movies? I appreciate a good Chuck Norris fact as much as the next guy but couldn't they find something better to show?

I'd be fine if it was all norris movies.
The truth is they are probably cheap and easy and will be entertaining. I'm not sure if roo has to pay licensing fees or anything in order to show movies in the tent. dunno.
probably won't be going for it but it's still a cool option
EDIT: ANOTHER COOL Q&A
They got this guy Don Hertzfeld who made one of the funniest animation shorts i've ever seen. It's called "rejected". Pretty cool that he'll be on the farm.
what are the chances that after the anvil screening the band actually plays a secret show? they've been doing that with most of their screenings lately, and i would enjoy adding some canadian metal to my weekend
It looks like they have some cool stuff. Don Hertzfeldt is great (my spoon is too big!), I've been wanting to see that Anvil documentary, and the Primus movie looks promising. However, I have never set foot in the cinema tent, nor do I intend to.

I'm guessing it still is 24/7. It just seems easier to show the times on the schedule they already have (which starts at 12pm and ends around 5 a.m.) rather than make a new schedule layout JUST for the cinema tent.

Aww, I'd love to go see that. I've been a big fan of his stuff for a while. Too bad he's going up against some stiff competition. Animal Collective and Mars Volta are two of my must-sees, so I won't get to catch Don Hertzfeld, it seems.

Oh, as far as the tent being open 24/7, it always is. Just they don't always have the late night stuff listed. It will probably be in the schedule in the booklet when you get to the farm.
However, I have seen them play stuff not on the schedule, especially late at night or early in the morning. In 2007, they filled in the extra time with short stuff like Flight of the Conchords (which hadn't aired yet, at the time).
I think in the time slots not listed they just show stuff over again. I remember going into the tent a few times and they would be playing stuff I had already seen. I seem to remember everytime I went into the tent last year they would be playing the Bela Fleck African Project dvd which got old pretty fast.
I like the schedule although I will probably only be in the cinema tent in the mornings unfortunately. I do like the Polanski triple feature alot.
haven't been in the cinema tent since '06. what's the set up in there like now??
can you just grab a spot on the floor and sprawl out?? or are there chairs set up that you have to sit in??
There have been chairs in the center and couches along the walls for the past two years. The couches tend to fill up fast. There's some floor-space to sit in and I've never seen anyone get hassled about it, though most people just stick to the chairs unless the place is packed.
Yeah...whoever swiped it pulled a very anarchic & gonzo-esque crime. Playing Charlie Bartlett in its place, however, was just a crime against humanity.

I was hoping the cinema lineup would be more satisfying as in past years since Thursday and Sunday leave me with lots of extra time on my hands. The Lebowski party should be good times at least!

Would one of you care to share the details of the fiasco? I planned on seeing it last year but my ride made me leave early

Basically it was ripped off but nothing was posted or communicated about the theft. Instead they made people stand outside in the sun to an hour then suffer through some weird ass animation (claymation if I remember correctly). Only then did they have some disaffected teenager announce to everyone that their sole advance copy had been stolen so they were going to run Charlie Bartlett instead. Pretty effing weak!

Well I'm glad I didn't wait around for it in that case!

i hate to admit this but i am kind of glad that the celtics will not be in the finals this year because then none of my friends are running to the cinema tent instead of shows. 1000 miles to watch a basketball game ON TV! no thank you.
