A four-disc vinyl set of Beyoncé’s historic headlining Coachella performance on two weekends in April 2018.
Beyoncé was the first African American woman to headline the festival and her performances received immediate widespread acclaim from fans and critics alike for the staging and celebration of Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs).
The set includes over two dozen songs that moved over 125,000 concert goers in the Valley. The epic pyramid-shaped bleachers held some 100 dancers and band, with special guest performers including Solange, JAY-Z, and Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams, who brought Destiny’s Child magic, harmony and nostalgia.
VINYL – 4 Standard Weight BLACK VINYL LPs, in a slipcase jacket, with a 52 page insert booklet
Street Date: Dec 4, 2020
that actually seems like a pretty good price for 4 vinyls and a 52 page booklet, especially considering how big a deal that show was.
after numerous delays, i finally got a tracking number for the first shipment from the Metallica vinyl club.
apparently it's all 7" and i don't really even like 7" records, not even sure why i signed up. but i'm in it now. not sure if anyone knows what the release actually is, so that's kind of exciting.

*Actually wasn't that hard. Speaking in Tongues. Burn this mother down.
My ex used to dog sit and the first time I went over the guys house she sat for and checked out his massive system I dug through his records and found a copy of Sabbath bloody sabbath and proceeded to play it at weird volumes everytime I went over there
And instead of saying all of your goodbyes - let them know you realize that life goes fast - It's hard to make the good things last-you realize the sun doesn't go down - It's just an illusion caused by the world spinning round
Pretty much, the lip at the bottom is substantial enough that it doesn't feel like they would slip/slide off. I reckon you could probably safely put 2 record on each. I have a weird 3/4" wood paneling in my living room (might be T1-11) so I didn't feel the need to go into a stud. Folks in the reviews said heavy duty command strips also worked and held well. Personally, if I had drywall, I'd try and find a stud.

this is great, thanks. i think i'll give them a shot with command strips and see how that works.
I have a couple of LPs in frames but like these little shelves better because you can easily grab the record to listen to it.

While they're a little pricey I still like this thing that I got when it was on Kickstarter getting started. I planned on using it more to display the case of what I was listening to but I've been lazy. Definitely a more expensive option than brackets, especially if you want to display a bunch.

Figured I'd share here, too. Finally a bucket list item is crossed off and I'm on cloud nine.
A few notes:
#00 isn't a part of the series but a 3 x lp sampler with liner notes from Thurston Moore.
* #10 was never issued. It was supposed to be Alan Jack Civilization Bluesy Mind but instead came out on the BYG label proper instead of the Actuel imprint.
Listening to it, you quickly realized why. The record has more in common with blues based rock vs. the improved jazz Actuel was forging. They never replaced it which is okay by me. It probably would have ended up being another Archie Shepp album.
* Alan Silva - Seasons is a 3 disc set that makes up numbers 42, 43, and 44

doing a test run of these using heavy duty command strips.
first i tried one shelf with one strip, put one of my heaviest vinyls on it after letting it set for an hour. Didn't hold up, fell down. No harm to the vinyl though since it just fell straight down to a carpeted floor.
now i'm trying two strips on each shelf, heavy 2x45 180 gram with thick record sleeves on each shelf. it held up overnight, so far so good. I still don't totally trust the command strips, when i look at them from the side you can see them pulling down from the top of the strip a little bit. it seems the strips work best when there are both vertical strips and horizontal strips, like on a picture frame, but with the shelf i can only do horizontal.
i'll probably end up screwing them into the wall, but i'm going to live with these for a bit and see.
thanks again for pointing these out. i opted for the clear ones over the black ones.

broooo I read those right two records wrong at first

This looks so good! Meant to say my only regret was not getting the clear lol.

thanks! only issue with the clear + command strips is you can see the command strips when the shelf is bare, looks bad, but if it works out i'll always have records on these shelves.
ultimate plan is to have six shelves underneath and six shelves above the framed Simple Minds record.
Nocturnal Emissions - Tissue of Lies (2020 reissue)... I think this is the first time this album has been reissued since the original 1981 release, which is ridiculously hard to find. Limited to 500, this is a true classic of early noise/industrial experimental music. Very happy to have this one in my collection. This is still easy to find for a good price for the time being, so fans of experimental music should take note.
King Crimson - In The Wake of Poseidon (original US).... Good copy, the gatefold spine is pressed nearly flat but the record is in nice shape. People seem to skip over this one when going through the best KC albums, but it’s an easy 4.5 out of 5 for me.
shelf update: picked up a few more. i like the way it looks now and may not add more shelves above these.
the shelf right above the record player will serve as my "Now Playing" shelf, but the others are just some of my favorite pieces i wanted to display and brag about to my internet friends.
from top to bottom / left to right:
Radiohead - OK Computer (original pressing) The Smiths - The Queen is Dead (original Rough Trade pressing) Rolling Stones - Between The Buttons (original mono pressing) Metallica - Kill 'Em All (original Megaforce pressing) New Order - Substance 1987 Phish - Story of the Ghost (original pressing) Joy Division - Unknown Pleasures (original pressing, FACTUS 1!) Ramones - Rocket to Russia (Rhino repress, playing at time picture was taken) Iggy Pop - Raw Power (original US pressing) NOFX - I Heard They Suck Live (original pressing)
most of these were purchased from my local record store, which has a way better inventory than any record store in southern Alabama should.
