so in the process of researching this I had the very smart realization that I could just buy banana plugs to connect my speaker wire into and made the dumb assumption that all banana plugs would connect into the speaker portion of my amp (they don't). So I just readjusted the speaker wire and now the sound is working fine again. I'm slowly coming to the realization that this is something I'm probably just going to have annoyingly readjust every month or so until I get a different amp. Good news, though: I'll never need to buy a banana plug again for the rest of my life.
what kind of amp do you have? the speaker terminals on some amps have the little banana plug hole blocked with a lil plug and you have to push it out.
but if it's a terminal like this those are bare wire only. but really it should be fine so long as you twist the copper together and carefully insert it into the terminal while holding open the little black or red thing. it really shouldn't just randomly stop working unless you are jostling the cables somehow or the amp or cable itself is somehow screwy.
I use a Pyle 2X120W, the back looks like this:
I think it's the former, there are little bars in the terminals. I'll see if I can get them out later.

those are bare wire terminals. maybe a dumb question but you do push on the little red or black things when inserting the bare wire right?

yes I do lol. My suspicion is that because I live in an old building with creaky floors, the wire slowly gets displaced over time as I walk around and requires readjusting, because every time I take it out and put it back in again it sounds like new.
Were they the ones who fucked over long time writers who just quit/were let go a little while ago? I know that or things like that happened to a few sites recently. I haven't kept up/don't really visit the AV Club anymore. A few years ago I was all over their TV reviews and comment sections and then they fucked that up in a variety of ways and ultimately just stopped having episodic reviews for the most part.
I probably just saw the tweet cuz Bright Eyes comes up for me a lot.
Anyway, I ended up buying the 3 companion Eps.
Yeah, the AV Club fucked over 7 of its most senior writers - most of them also the department editors for music, movies, tv, etc - by telling them they had to relocate to LA from Chicago or leave their positions, even though they can all easily work remotely.
Then they didn't offer a COLA raise or offer to pay moving fees.
Then they posted several of those writers' jobs as publicly open for applicants even though the writers had another month to make a decision, and hadn't made one yet.
So fuck them, fuck G/O media, forever and ever, amen

We're all a mess of paradoxes. Believing in things we know can't be true. We walk around carrying feelings too complicated and contradictory to express. But when it all becomes too big, and words aren't enough to help get it all out, there's always music.

Wow there's a lot of stuff I wanna grab this year Sara Bareilles Blur Noel Gallagher Taylor Mariah Bowie Childish Gambino Nicki Gerard Way Tegan and Sara
Kinda hoping that half of this list is sold out by the time I make it into the store haha
Kittie and Handsome Boy Modeling School are the ones Ill hopefully be able to grab. Doubt anyone at Coachella is gonna be looking for Kittie, but its at least an RSD 1st release so itll be around in some form afterwards.
I ordered the second volume of American Aquarium's Slappers Bangers Certified Twangers albums back in December when it came out and I was very happy to see this on my timeline the day after BJ said he had received them.
Been checking periodically for months for the Bon Iver s/t 10 Year Anniversary presale to come back in stock. I don't think they ever will, but I asked my local shop and they said they're getting them to release this Friday, so I'm really hoping I can get my hands on one. I don't have that record yet and it also has the AIR Studios recordings on it if you've ever watched that on YouTube. Fingers crossed!

I purchased very few items in Italy for myself, but Italian vinyl was def on the list. I ended up at this record shop across from the Pantheon, the same one the Pope visited a few months ago. Unfortunately they only had new vinyl, but some cool stuff. I even picked up some "imported vinyl" from the US. Paid more for it just to say I bought it there.
oh, and colored toilet paper. Because I love it and you can't buy it in the US.

New third man vault. I know people here know/love the band but I'm clueless about Sleep. May end up canceling this one. Have way too much vinyl already, they've increased the price of the subscription recently, and not really knowing them much all play a part.
Announcing #ThirdManVault Package #52, #SLEEP: Dopesmoker, featuring remastered audio from the original source tapes of this seminal album. The package includes four "green kush" colored LPs that include the album, a custom etching and alternate takes of "Dopesmoker" and an unearthed studio version of the long-lost track "Hot Lava Man," a 7" featuring "Dopesmoker" (Radio Edit) and "Proceeds The Weedian" (marking the band's first 7" release since 1991), two foldover posters and a woven patch, all inside a custom LP slipcase. A standard 2xLP version will be available from Third Man later this summer

I got the new Ibibio Sound Machine album and it sounds great, comes on beautiful yellow splatter vinyl, and also doesn't have the last three songs on it (they're listed as "digital bonus tracks"). This is kind of unfortunate because I really like all of them, however, I do have to give credit where it's due and that they didn't turn the record into an overly wasteful double LP just to sandwich the extra three songs on there.
