Reading the liner notes and noticed a Dan Carey produced both. Looked him up and he is responsible for Fontaines DC, black midi, Squid, all the good recent British and Irish stuff. He's like one of those Swedish "everything I write turns to gold" producer guys but for the Isles.
My Tool Fear Inoculum vinyl box set finally arrived. It seems like overkill to press the album on 5 one sided records and leave the other sides blank with art etchings, but it sounds great and I like the presentation.
Anyone own or have recommendations for a vinyl record player?
What's your budget? I upgraded to a Project Debut Carbon EVO (https://pro-jectusa.com/product/debut-carbon-evo/) last year and really love it. The included Sumiko cartridge is excellent and its a beautiful system.

I looked at this one along with the X1 and X2 but was a little concerned because they don't look like they have enough shock absorbing capability on the legs to withstand my dancing and jumping around. I could construct something under it need be, I suppose. Any opinion on how it does when you are up walking or jumping around?
We're all a mess of paradoxes. Believing in things we know can't be true. We walk around carrying feelings too complicated and contradictory to express. But when it all becomes too big, and words aren't enough to help get it all out, there's always music.

They feel pretty solid, much more than the u-turn I had before. Never had a problem but I guess it depends on how hard you go. Walking is no problem at all.

I broke my personal record for amount paid for an album. Jawbreaker was selling autographed 2015 reissue (out of print) copies of Dear You for $70 at their reunion shows. Bought that real quick.

I see this turntable requires a phono preamp. I currently use my crappy Crosely with my receiver connected to my home theater system. Would that suffice?
Highly recommend the Fluance RT85 around that same price. Comes with an Ortofon Blue cartridge (or Nagaoka MP-110). I paired mine with the iFi Zen phono preamp.

Thanks! And is a preamp required if I already have a receiver?

Yeah, unless your receiver has a phono input. You can also buy Fluance turntables with built-in preamps, then you can just connect it directly to your receiver.

Second the Fluance and AT recs, can't go wrong with any of these choices. And yeah you'll need a pre-amp for the Pro-ject. If ddon't want to go the built in route, I've read Schiit is a good brand (https://www.schiit.com/products).

I almost hit triple digits two times for OG pressings: Tame Impala Innerspeaker 45 RPM and Cocteau Twins Heaven or Las Vegas. I doubt I'll ever part with them but considering both go for well over $100 at the moment, it was a decent investment too.

I finally started a discogs account and realized I have the OG UK pressing of The Streets A Grand Dont Come For Free which is going for over $100. Didn't realize it was the original and I know I didn't pay close to that.

A lot of records from the early 00s are going for mad money lately, and demand fluctuates like crazy. Similar to you, I paid $20 for Cibo Matto's Stereo Type A at a record fair in 2018. Someone paid $250 for it last year on Discogs... a month before a reissue came out.
it feels weird that i'm not hyped for RSD at all this weekend. i used to look forward to it big time but when i only really want one thing and i'm not even sure if either store here will have it.
