every month you can go into the VMP store and add on a batch of records they've picked out as well as any of the former featured packages they have left - it's very possible there will be extras of this record you could buy next month if you signed up after the cutoff.
they have the last 4 months still available for purchase.
speaking of which, I need to buy the perfume genius one....
I see some of you are talking about Vinyl Me, Please. I just received the subscription e mail, and I have 72 hours to determine if I should sign up. Why should I?
What is so unique that they are offering me that I wouldn't get if I just followed along with their picks each month and bought it myself?

He needs to sell more copies - his vinyl single releases have been selling out quickly. I had to fix my facebook page to notify me when he makes a post (and Pax AM) so I would get an automatic notifcation when he releases something. Else it is gone. I wasn't able to get his hard-to-get cat sweater even doing that... ha.

I'd like an answer to this as well, i was thinking about doing it a while ago but backed out. Are you all extremely happy with the service?

I'm satisfied with my first couple of months worth (I have no idea if you will be). And obviously paying for it on a monthly basis, instead of quarterly or yearly, is nowhere near as good of a deal.
Would you pay a 2 to 6 dollars extra for an exclusive color vinyl and/or additional "stuff" over a standard black vinyl copy? No? Don't join then. What percent of their monthly archive do you give a shit about? You could always resell the stuff you don't care for. In fact, there's probably someone here that might take it off your hands. But if they have yet to offer anything that interests you...don't join.
Nice to see the Phish NYE 1995 set wasn't just a fun rumor.
And I definitely want to grab Steve Reich's Music For 18 Musicians.
Yeah I'm already sweating getting a copy of the Phish one. I'm sure it will be super expensive (6x12") though.
I'm guessing about $130. I think that's what LCD Soundsystem's six-record box set was last year. I haven't had any problems getting other Phish RSD releases so I'm thinking it will all be good even if you have to wait a little bit for it to be reprinted.
Or at least that's what I'm telling myself so I don't stress out about it.
Braid Brand New Father John Misty Interpol J Dilla Paul McCartney Oneohtrix Point Never The Replacements Swans The Front Bottoms Vampire Weekend Against Me! Close Jon Hopkins The Pizza Underground Real Friends Ride Run the Jewels
The Phish releases are always super popular at my record store. People up front always going for them.
Damn them.
I got Junta and Lawn Boy no problem. Extra copies of Lawn Boy sat in my local store for weeks.
Random thought, Phish had daily special vinyl releases everyday of the SBIX festival. I got all of them, I think it was White Album, Two Soundchecks 7", and Party Time. I'd bet they'll have MSG 95 at the (rumored) festival this summer as well.
So if I don't get it at RSD in Mobile, AL I'll get it in Watkins Glen, NY Aug 21, 22, or 23.
Captain Beefheart - Magic Band Rough Raw and Amazing Bob Dylan - The Basement Tapes (180g mono) Gov't Mule - Stone Side vol 2 Grateful Dead - Wake Up To Find Out: Nassau Coliseum Of Montreal - Snare Lustrous Doomings SWANS - 12" EP

Dude that's awesome. I had no idea they did that. Great backup plan.
Okay, so every paycheck I allow myself to buy one thing for myself. I'm in the market for a record player. Has there been a buying guide for record players posted on here anywhere? I've already got a ton of vinyl, but nothing to play it on.

Try using the search bar in this thread. There's been TONS of good advice and links but it's hard to sift through 95 pages of posts. There are some guides and stuff out there but this thread has been beneficial to a lot.

My favorite recommendations are the Pro-Ject Debut Carbon or the Rega RP1, with a preference towards the Pro-Ject because it comes with an Ortofon 2M Red cartridge. They each run about $400-450.
Much better values to be had in the vintage world. If you can track down a gently used Technics SL1200mk2 it will serve you for a lifetime, I think they can be had for about $400. They were built for abuse in clubs so should have no issues running for decades in a home (just make sure you get one that hasn't already been abused in clubs).
Other vintage decks can also offer great values, its just a matter of making sure it is fully functional, or you know how to repair it yourself or know someone who can help you.
So who has experience with selling vinyl on ebay? I've managed to get quite a collection of autographed vinyl albums over the last several years and am wondering if I should try cashing in on any of it. I have no idea what to list any of it for.
Here is my autographed collection. Anyone interested in obtaining some of this?

I read through these posts from the vinyl me please site a few months ago and found them helpful. I'm definitely no expert, but these seemed like solid suggestions.
