Jigsaw puzzles are a hobby of mine - how many pieces? And do you like the other goodies that came with it? I love the album. I think the first song is the only track I haven't really connected with - the rest are outstanding.
The main reason I got the package was to get the 7" single that had songs not included on the album. The puzzle was neat and I forget how many pieces but I'll be able to find it somewhere on their site.
The box is really fancy. Like the 3d nature of it. I'm not sure I'd have bought this if I could get the 7" single separate though.
Got the reissue of Heartbreaker released today - even better, I preordered it about six months ago and saved $10 or so from the original price until the release price!

I have two vinyl pressings of this record and the MFSL SACD. Its impossible for this record not to sound amazing. Easily my #1 reference recording for new equipment. I can't begin to count how many times I've listened to "Oh My Sweet Carolina".

So I pre-ordered the new Chris Robinson Brotherhood Betty's Blend Vol.2 from Bullmoose a while back and now I've been told that my order might not get filled! I have all releases they've put out so far but will be pissed if I have to pay eBay prices!
Was strolling around the mall waiting for my phone to be fixed and ended up buying the MoFi release of In A Silent Way, which is an album I meditate to fairly often. Really happy to get this one, especially since it was 25% off.

i have it, you won't be disappointed. beautiful sounding pressing.
bought this right after his set. 3x45 great sounding, super clean vinyl. Not a gatefold or anything, and the vinyl sleeves are way too tight (already slightly tore one of them), but since the vinyl is so high quality I'm not concerned too much with the packaging.
Having Loud Places > Good Times on one side is nice too.

Man... I really wanted to avoid spending $45 on this thing but damn do I really want that cover... and the great sound quality...
I received this today for my birthday. I have to say that it's the "prettiest" vinyl boxed set I have ever owned or seen in person. They did an outstanding job. The packaging was superb, as well. Everything was wrapped apart and heavily secured. Even better, the money goes towards charity!
What are your thoughts on bootleg albums and stores that sell them?
I bought Kendrick Lamar's Section 80 and To Pimp A Butterfly and just realized when adding them to my Discogs that these are not from the label. I spent $70 on those 2 and none of the money goes to the artist or the label. I should have been more observant, I saw Yeezus on the shelves and I knew that was a fake. I bought these at my favorite store and I don't like the fact that they stock these albums.
I don't like to buy those kinds of bootlegs/albums.
I have purchased a bootleg of Seu Jorge doing the David Bowie covers he did in the Life Aquatic movie. As far as I'm aware there isn't a legit/real copy of this released and the only option you have is for the bootleg so I bought it. I wanted these songs on vinyl and would obviously have purchased it direct from the artist/label if it were released.
I didn't realize there are sometimes bootlegs of things like that, though. Does the sleeve/packaging look legit? Or is it in a blank case or something?

One of my local shops tried to pass off a bootleg TPAB as the official release. As far as I can tell there are two different ones circulating at the moment. A clear version with Alright out of place on the tracklisting and vinyl itself, shipping from Germany (I know this one because I bought one, knowing full well it was a boot anyways). There's also a pink and gray (or also clear) splatter that's going around too.
I bought mine strictly for the novelty, as I've never bought a bootleg before. When (read: IF) TPAB gets an official release, I'll make sure Kendrick gets my money then too.
I just bought a turntable last year. My collection isn't huge but I am still very proud of it. I don't live near any type of record store, so these were all purchased from this thrift store not far from my house or off of Amazon or UGHH. (Forgot to mention, the turntable is an ion pure lp. Piece of shit but it works, so can't complain): Amy Whinehouse- Back To Black Atmosphere- When Life Gives You Lemons, You Paint That Shit Gold BB King- The Great BB King The Beatles- Abbey Road (Original Pressing) Big K.R.I.T.- 4evanaday Billy Joel- 52nd Street Bob Dylan- Real Live Bob Dylan- Shadows In The Night Common- Resurrection Curtis Mayfield- Superfly (Original pressing) Death Grips- The Powers That B Genius/GZA- Liquid Swords Ghostface Killah- 36 Seasons Jay Z- The Blueprint J Dilla- Donuts Madvillain- Madvillainy Marvin Gaye- That's The Way Love Is Marvin Gaye- Live! Third Man Records Vault looks to be about the Dead Weather this quarter (also some discounts to Tidal):
Way back in October 2013, The Dead Weather and Third Man Records announced an incredibly special 7” featuring “Open Up (That’s Enough)” b/w “Rough Detective” as part of Vault Package #18. These two tracks were a fierce battle cry heralding the announcement of a brand new Dead Weather album that was to be released in a revolutionary fashion. Teased out over the past year and a half via a series of 7” singles, the physical versions of which were ONLY available via The Vault (Third Man’s one-of-a-kind subscription mail-order service), the band promised this would culminate in a brand new album in 2015. The third Dead Weather LP would be a full length album comprised not only of the previously released 7” singles, but newly recorded, previously-unheard material. Today, The Dead Weather officially announce their new album Dodge & Burn.
Dodge & Burn will be released worldwide in September 2015 on Third Man Records and will feature eight brand new songs, along with the four previously released tracks remixed and remastered. Alison Mosshart, Jack White, Dean Fertita and Jack Lawrence spent their rare and sporadic free moments over the past year recording together in Nashville. With the members of the band heavily involved in other projects, The Dead Weather will not be touring in support of the new album. Thankfully the thick and heavy Dodge & Burn will satisfy your urges for the dark magic that is The Dead Weather for a very long time.
The ONLY special, limited edition version of the new album will be released as Vault Package #25, which will arrive the same week as the standard album release in September. The Dodge & Burn Vault Package will include:
- A limited edition Dodge & Burn LP on Inclement Weather vinyl (that is to say opaque yellow with black ‘debris’) housed in a soft-touch embossed sleeve featuring metallic ink and a Vault-exclusive alternate cover designed by Rob Jones, also featuring a limited edition bonus poster inside.
- The only physical version of the new Dead Weather 7” and single from Dodge & Burn on yellow vinyl with black debris.
- A deck of custom Dead Weather playing cards designed by Silent Giants featuring the band members as the King, Queen, Jack and Joker. Previously released in limited numbers and now, due to popular demand, re-issued for the Vault only with new packaging artwork.
Platinum Vault members are eligible to ALSO have TIDAL HiFi subscriptions (normally $19.99/month) for only an additional $5/month. This 75% discount on TIDAL HiFi subscriptions remains in effect in perpetuity, for as long as a Vault member's subscription remains active and uninterrupted. TIDAL, an artist-owned and artist-friendly streaming service, has two tiers of subscriptions: a standard quality $9.99/month version (TIDAL Premium), and the high-fidelity, CD-quality, lossless audio $19.99 version (TIDAL HiFi) we are offering to Platinum Vault members at 75% off, as well as exclusive content and access to intimate live shows around the world.
Vault members can access their promo code to unlock this discount for TIDAL HiFi in their Third Man Store Account Dashboard (http://thirdmanstore.com/customer/account/), and should proceed to tidal.com/ to sign up. The discount will remain in effect for as long as the Vault member's subscription is continuously active, but please note, this is a ONE TIME discount. Once a Vault subscription is cancelled, the discount code is with which it is associated will be disabled and cannot be reactivated. Any interruption in Vault membership will result in the irreversible invalidation of the associated coupon. To clarify, if you cancel your subscription on your current e-mail address, your $5 TIDAL subscription then becomes a $20 subscription, and this cannot be reversed.
First, good looking release. I like the Dead Weather and would've bought this record anyway. I prefer getting rarer recordings but whatever, they can't all be Bonnaroo 2014.
Second, I've been taking advantage of the Vault $5/month Tidal promotion for a couple months now. I probably posted about it elsewhere, but in order to take advantage I had to cancel my existing Tidal account and start a brand new account with a brand new email (which i created just for this purpose). New account works fine but I had an issue with Tidal "re-establishing" my old account FOUR TIMES over the course of about 45 days. I have no idea why this happened, the only explanation I was given was "technical glitch". Every time the old account was reestablished I was charged $19.99. Every time I filed a complaint with Tidal and, to their credit, the $19.99 was refunded extremely quickly.
The fourth time I was pretty pissed and expressed that anger in my complaint. No issues since that time (this was in June sometime). And the new account works great. Hard to argue with $5/month for lossless streaming.

Yea, the one downside is if you cancel the Vault subscription then the Tidal discount is cancelled as well and can't be reactivated if you restart the Vault subscription, which is kind of lame.
So you have to stay locked in to $75 each quarter in order to get it. Still a great deal but with the Vault I've been known to skip at least one quarter a year and I'd hate to lose the Tidal discount. Still thinking about it though.
