Found an old box from high school, filled with vinyl. Mother lode.
While testing to see if they are still playable, I pulled out the Hard Day's Night sleeve and found it contained another sleeve filled with this:
It's apparently the most counterfeited LP in history, though, so I doubt this one is an original. It's still 40 years old though - I have good BEATLES karma today.
I took my kids to a christmas party yesterday and had to roll through a little town called DeLand. I knew there were 2 record stores there, so I wanted to stop and browse for a little bit. The kids wanted to go into a little trading card game lair to look at Magic and Pokemon cards. Next door there was a collectable shop with a couple crates of records and some comics out on the street to draw people in. I looked through the bins outside and it was all old jazz and big band stuff that I don't go for in my collection. There was a sign on one of the crates written in ball point pen that said "lots more inside". So I went in and....JACKPOT!
I didn't have enough cash on me (and I refuse to bust out plastic for records (and honestly I doubt he had a CC machine anyways).
For $25 I got:
Metallica Kill em All on Megaforce Blonde on Blonde Tangerine Dream - Encore a 2 LP live record thats pretty good Songs in the Key of Live Interpol. - Turn on the Bright Lights Goodbye Yellow Brick Rd Moody Blues: -Every good boy Deserves Favour - Search for the inner Chord -Days of future passed A Christmas album with a bunch of artists I like including Paul McCartney Stray Cats - Built for Speed Tom Waits - Foreign Affairs
Yes, all for $25 total. I only went through about 5 crates, and there were more than 40 there. I just couldn't spend more money and I had to pass on some Smiths, Beatles, Stones, gosh I can't even remember it all.

The new turntable, amp/receiver and speakers. Super cheap. And a HUUUUGE upgrade from what I had.
Numero Group 039 Eccentric Soul The Nickel and Penny Labels. Disco Dancing. Dolemite.
Merry Christmas. The Delfonics-Self Titled. Numero Group 022 Brotherman. Every Mother's Son-Self Titled. George Feyer-Echoes of Paris, Vienna, Italy and Spain. Yeasayer-Fragrant World colored vinyl with 7 in.
The Rolling Stones-Bye Bye Johnny, Money, You Better Move On, Poison Ivy (Thank you!) Tyler Ramsey-Black Pines, Raven Shadow 78 RPM. Tin Armor-Strange and Estranging, One Million Shitlists. Circuital-signed (Thank you Whoreshack ) Tin Armor-Life of Abundance. Reservoir Dogs (Pink!). Sun-Let There Be Sun (Awesome lil' find) Gangster Fun-Times Flies When You're (another unexpected find)
We're all a mess of paradoxes. Believing in things we know can't be true. We walk around carrying feelings too complicated and contradictory to express. But when it all becomes too big, and words aren't enough to help get it all out, there's always music.

I will be going back there. Oh yes.
Nice score! I paid $50 for my Kill Em All Megaforce alone. Its minty fresh though.

I'm looking to upgrade with a new table, does anyone have experience with a Pro-ject Debut Carbon (or any Pro-ject table really)? I saw a few people have Rega Rp1 tables, so any input on those would be great as well.
Also, I'd like to get a decent integrated amp too. If anyone has suggestions in the $200-$400 range that would be great!

Picked up this beauty, Live from the Netherlands, Yr Living All Over Me Tour. Also, new live Drive-by Truckers at Third Man Studios, Live Jason Isbell & the 400 Unit, some Numero Group and the new Bad Brains. Productive afternoon.
FYI, there are some sick deals on vinyl online today for Cyber Monday. Popmarket.com has some amazing vinyl bundles, changing every hour. Right now its a two-album bundle of live Neil Young. The 180 gram releases of Live at the Fillmore East and Live at Canterbury Mountain. 44 bucks for the whole set, that's (if I'm not mistaken) about 30 bucks less than usual.
I finally got this stuff in the mail yesterday. I ended up getting the Neil Young bundle and the Pearl Jam bundle. I blew it on the White Stripes bundle though because I passed out before it happened.
