Just a thread to b!tch a bit about the shower situation this year. Roo was being a real @ss about it in my area (I was right behind shakedown, Pod 3) Also why no daytime fountain?
On Thursday eve I went to the troughs, took my hose and was showering. The faucets in the trailer had no threads so I screwed the hose on the water station outside and proceeded to wash. A guy from the pay showers came over, looked at me , whipped out some tools and proceeded to change the on/off valves to spring loaded ones so you had to hold the water on with one hand, hold the hose woth the other and had no hands to scrub.
So Friday I show up, find a shower buddy (I hold the water on for him, then holds it on for me) and the security guy comes by and says "NO HOSES! You're flooding the area." Like my hose is making a dent in the monsoon mud from Thur night.
He even tried to confiscate my hose (Like that's gonna happen.) Said if I wanted to wash, I needed to pay for it. I told him hoses were not contraband and if he'd give me $7, I'd gladly pay for a shower.
By Saturday they had calmed down and I used my hose the rest of the weekend (with the help of a shower buddy) but what was up with the "making hard to wash" thing. They even shut the fountain down during the heat of the day. Seems they really needed our $7 shower money.
Okay, enough griping. I still had an amazing time at Roo '09.

One thing I've learned about Bonnaroo is that the security doesn't know ANYTHING.
Good call on telling him what's what. I would've done the same thing. They tried to tell me I couldn't take my hoop in on Thursday night at the arch entrance, I just said "WTF?" and went to the other one, had no issues

woops just made a new thread about the fountain thing and didnt see this..by far one of the most annoying things of the weekend. also they shut down the showers early on monday, we got there at 9am and the guy was locking up, so we had to use the sinks and feel nasty on the plane ride home. not cool. you would think if they wanted the money so badly they wouldve stayed until the farm closed at 3.
^^ Well you're thread is more a straight fountain thread and I'm really just b!tching about the whole seemingly intentional "hassle to wash/stay cool" thing so...
BTW, hope the canopy worked out. You probably really needed it Thursday.

dude you have no idea, i cant thank you enough. im going to karma you all week! the pieces were a little hard to get together at first but then we figured it out with our neighbors and it saved our lives all weekend...it was brutally hot sat during the day and if i didnt have this and my battery powered fan i definitely would have passed out.
on another note i walked around forever fri AM looking for brunch and couldnt find it i couldnt find the inforoo flag! next year this will be a must.

Next year be sure to get on the Brunch phone list. Then you'll have a list of numbers to call for directions. Or you can just call me and I'll come get you and take you there.

So I end up parked in a camp (I still got out when I needed) I'm going to go ahead and say this is also true of the police. I had to leave Friday morning for school and when I came back I was given directions to the back end of Bushy Branch. When I tried to tell the officer that day parking and family camping would need to go the way he was directing me away from he would not listen. So I end up parked in a camp (I still got out when I needed), and as I'm walking away I hear a woman behind me say she needs family parking. Score.
I also did not see Inforoo flag in camp only. Didn't look that hard, either, though, as I could not make brunch.

That's completely ridiculous. What the hell are the troughs there for if not to wash up?? The water stations in Centeroo were different this year and were actually sink-like with hot and cold taps. The fact that they were different from the troughs to me implies that they're intended for different purposes - the Centeroo sinks are mainly for filling water bottles and stuff while the troughs are for washing up. I don't know why they bothered putting the troughs there if they didn't want people to be able to get clean.
I heard RV parking ran out of well water. It had completely dried up by Saturday afternoon. Maybe the organizers knew they'd be running short, and this explains the lack of water stations and troughs, both in Centeroo and at the easternmost camp sites.
