Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
The accomodations have been fine every year i've gone. Sometimes you have to wait in line at porta potties......it's just life.
You want more water? Bring it? I always bring a few jugs of water just for washing and other stuff.
It's an outdoor, camping music festival on a farm. You kinda have to expect what you're getting into. Water is provided. So you have to walk a little while to get to it? Big deal. There are much worse things in life.
Here's my issue. I'm totally cool with being dirty. I've been to six Bonnaroos, so trust me, I'm okay with it. However, how do you go from having ample wash stations in the campgrounds to none within a 20 minute walk? That makes no sense to me. To go backwards in terms of logistics is illogical.
They shouldn't say, "Stay hydrated!" and not provide the means.
Also, as far as having 5 water stations within Centeroo, and not being more than a 5 minute walk from a water station, I agree. However, when several of those stations are full of sulfur-laced, undrinkable water, and the stations that that have drinkable water have little to no water pressure and fewer faucets than ever before, I wonder if Bonnaroo really thought out the logistics well enough, or if they were just attempting to shave a few pennies off the top.
These things really affected my experience this year, and judging from several others' comments, theirs as well. Simply put, the backwards trend in these logistical items baffles me, as one would think that the logistics would get better every year they put on the festival. Unless, of course, the people at the top are no longer in touch with what the average festival-goer experiences. Just my two cents.
All I cansay is that I have lived in TN most of my life, and the well water on the farm is pretty darned good. It is not bottled water but hey it is free. If you cant stand it, nobody was stopping you from either bringing your own bottles in, or buying them there. Personally I used those things all weekend, and it never bothered me in the slightest.

Are you always in the same camping spot? Because some are a 5 minute walk and some are 20. It's just the luck of the draw. Sounds to me like you just got unlucky this year.

They provided the means. Just because the filling up stations were crowded doesn't mean they weren't there.
Also i'm pretty sure there was a water bottle/drinks stand within viewing distance from anywhere on the farm. Yea the water isn't free.....but to say they don't provide the means to stay hydrated is a little extreme.

Like above.....if you don't like the FREE water you were able to buy fresh, cold, bottled water.
Also i'm not sure if they were saving pennies......I think the switch to having power on the farm (and less generators) turned out to be more than they expected. A lot of things had to be altered (Air conditioning in certain tents like Comedy and Staff turned off periodically) because of rolling power outages that Roo was causing to the manchester area. I think this could have some impact on things. Not definite.....but possible.

Sorry to hear. I had a better experience with these things and hopefully if you go back you will too.

Agreed. We packed Clorox wipes, toilet paper and hand sanitizer for our forays into the porta potties, and brought more than enough water to hold us over. We were prepared and had no complaints. (I mean, besides the fact that there weren't fully furnished, airconditioned bathroom lounges and gold fixtures on the walls).

VIP has airconditioned bathroom lounges...not sure on the gold fixtures though! ;D

there are two different VIP bathroom trailers. the white ones, as i recall, have black "marble" floors / walls and do have "gold" fixtures. the other isnt as classy

After trying all of the bathroom varieties, I always went with the white trailers. All of that fake marble was classy indeed.
I'm much more of a fan of sweltering plastic huts. . . a/c is for the birds. While fake marble and gold spray paint do appeal to my artistic sense, I just can't fathom peacefully resting on a throne of such magnitude. I'll be over here with the rest of the plebeian masses
And I won't even complain

Wasnt the water inside Centeroo tap water. I didn't get a sulfur taste at all. The filling stations in the camping area is well water. I thought the water stations were awesome.

There were new filtered water stations inside Centeroo this year. I believe the water came from the same well as the water at the other stations, only it was filtered.

as far as porto potty lines go, people were just stupid for most of the weekend. almost anytime i went to the bathroom the first couple of them had a bunch of people waiting, but if you walked just past them there are like 3 unoccupied stalls that you can just jump right in, and this was on the main drag coming out of centeroo. if people used a little more common sense and didnt just follow what everyone else was doing there wouldnt even be lines. i also noticed if you went for a porto potty with a pile of mud in front of it, once past that the bathroom itself was clean and mostly unused ;D

We had a great spot this year. We were within ten minutes of Centeroo, five minutes of a water station in camp, and two minutes from what we called out own "private bathrooms" (A row of portos that were out of the way so no one ever went into them).
I thought that the logistics (for us, anyway) were incredible.

you know, tent only is a good choice if you dont want to make the walk to centeroo multiple times a day. instead make the walk once on thursday with your shit and stay there all weekend. worked for me.

I 2nd this! Other than the fact that it took us FOREVER to get to tent only on Thursday and I was exhausted once we got everything set up.
You can always try requesting a specific campground if they haven't filled it already. I saw more than one camp group do that to get prime spots in their particular pod.
