Haha I wouldn't want to not see Prince on the poster though, it would be like betting against the Bills. While safe, it would mean I would have to root against them, I don't want that.

I think Prince's guitar skills are often overlooked. When he released Musicology, he did a show, maybe on MTV or VH1 and it was sick. UNfortunately I can't find a single video of it.

The story goes Prince had never even heard of "Still My Guitar Gently Weeps" when they asked him to play it at The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Supposedly he learned it the night before the show. Whether that's true or whether it's out there just to make that solo sound even sicker is up for debate.

To add to the Prince story, I read the only reason he played was because he heard he would be sharing the stage with Tom Petty, and he thought that would be pretty sweet - the whole epic Beatle's tribute was a mere by-product!
Also from the new site, tone of Bonnaroo 2009 DVD, (lame quotes and questionable artist selections), and lineup from last year, I kinda get the sense the fest is looking to take a more of a hippster direction, but is trying to not alienate past fans by booking renowned/jam artists in prominent spots - meaning I think Young, Simon, Stevie, and another jam band (DMB, Prince...) will headline and we may even get an annoucement of special guests with one of these artists. But sadly I think the tents will be over run with hippsters who even at this point must be sick of themselves. And if Tom Petty is there I guess that means we get Prince too!
