Interesting, but we will see if it is still there after the next animation. I still think given the name and all that Datelan army base, by Dateland AZ is the most likely.

soo i saw on another site about how if you zoom in on the website and resize it that you actually see california...i had trouble in firefox, but when i went to my internet explorer and tried it, sure enough california was in fact floating above the us and is not really gone...now i by no means want this in california bc that is nowhere near me, BUT 1) there has been no other venue that has had as many people making noise about it as coachella 2) majority of people who said coachella are not conceding and saying they were wrong
I don't think we'll know much about the California thing until we check tomorrow and see if it's still there. It could just be the end of the animation, or it could be a trick. Who knows.
That would be pretty hillarious if it does end up being in Cali. Only Phish would fake out their fans like that, im sure there was more then one person today having a heart attack about non-refundable reservations.
But I really hope Cali does stay eliminated and it ends up somewhere closer to Ohio, I dont really want to spend a fortune flying across country, renting a car, etc.

i was talking with some friends who have done some work with flash player on the net and whatnot(though please feel free to correct me if i'm wrong). they said that cali hanging above the states doesn't necessarily mean it's still in the running. my very crude recollection of the explanation is that flash uses layers. so next time a state is taken away they'll put another "layer" on top of it all, and cali will be gone.
if someone has checked this before now, please let me know, but up until this point, every state could have done something like this. there was one time when boats took away a state and pulled it off the screen. it could have done the same thing cali is doing now and been hanging out outside of where we could see it.
we'll just have to see if anything changes next go-round
being from SC, im really happy to see that georgia and florida are still on the map. echo project location and big cypress would be totally ideal for me.

both of the dakotas are still blacked out from what i see...
^^same, living on the east coast and all. If this Phest is to much, i'm probably going to Moe. down. closer and alot cheaper, but the Phest would be worth it. Anyone have an extra 700?

y'all get EVERYTHING close to you. most of the fests i want to attend, or have, are all in the east. i'm ready for something closer to home so that i can finally save money on travel costs.
maybe i'm just mixing myself some of that texas kool-aid
All I really care about is that it is primarily a camping not a hotel fest. If it is a hotel fest I can do NYE, or Cincinnati a lot cheaper. To me the Polo club is going to be mainly a hotel event and will probably not require my presence.
