Anyone else going to this show? I know that they are playing in Nashville which is a lot closer to me. But me and a friend of mine decided we would go see them in Ohio too.
Good luck. I've had bad luck x2 trying to see these guys in Columbus. But the LC Pavilion is a pretty cool venue. They have an inside and an outside stage (which I prefer) and security is very generous.
I'm still undecided about catching their show on 10/17 in Cincinnati or go see moe.

Pretty disappointed with the NYC show tonight. Came out 30 min late, left 30 min early, with no encore. Set list was kind of a let down too, and the band itself seemed to be....taking it easy. A lot of tunes were a lot slower than they are on albums, and Cedric was often flat. All in all, might not have been worth the bumps and bruises gained in the front of the crowd (one of those half-mosh pit deals).
Sucks to hear that. However, their shows are always very polarizing, as I've been reading good reviews of their most recent shows. Only consistent negative I can find is the duration of the shows and some people being tired of the setlists.
Still, they're supposedly playing as tight as ever and I cannot wait to see them in Charlotte in two weeks.
Can't wait... my 4th Volta show in less than two weeks at Charlotte. Going to be nuts, staying in a hotel so I can party as much as I want!
To shed some light on their recent shows, everyone is complaining about how short the sets are... I would too, and probably will complain about the show's length. But, they are doing some jammy type stuff, contrary to the belief that there is no jamming at the recent shows:
Roulette has apparently gotten an outro even different from the one they had at Roo, this year...
Drunkship has a short but cool extended bridge in the middle featuring a classic Juan bass solo.
New Omar solos abound...
Apparently before The Widow, Juan gets an extended bass solo while some of the other members go off and... relax... really quickly.
I'm sure there's more, but that's mostly if from what I've listen to and read.

yeah, everything Bishop said is true, the show was completely mind-blowing! the backdrops are amazing and go so well with the music. the show may have only been 93 minutes but it was so tight and... amazing.
i forgot to say that the crowd chanting "Let the wheels burn, let the wheels burn" sent goosebumps down my spine.

I agree too man. They were phenomenal! I was just mad that I didn't get close to the stage!

Awesome show. Just got in the door and it's 5:51 a.m. my time. I left yesterday at noon and got to Columbus right as the doors were opening for the venue. Fairly small place...pretty personal and what not...which was great. I got to see them very close. I even caught a white guitar pick that had Cedric's name craved into it. : )
Omar did some backing vocals...my buddy who I went with said he had never seen Omar sing back-up but he did tonight. Cedric stared at me for like 10 seconds and I couldn't help but to just start burning up. I'm a guy but damn Cedric is one sexy man. I loved seeing him bouncing around on stage and doing handstands.
Anyway...I'm exhausted. Had a wonderful road trip.
On the Comatorium, there's one repsonse that indicates that they did play...
"it was uh-mazing!" at 3:48 AM
That is all anyone's said about it, so I'm assuming it happened and that it had a reeeaaally small turn out.
Awesome. I couldn't access their forums from work so had no clue what was happening. This makes me happy!! Really excited for tonight's show! TheDruid saved my butt and is coming with me, because no one I knew wanted to go.......
