yea the only set i saw at other that night was Lupe, stuck out for the entire pearl jam set(which was amazing) and hustled over to get there for Lupe(unfortunately missed the coup though who i heard were good). then as soon as Lupe ended we went over to get a spot for kanye and missed talib kweli and chili 2na. regret that decision.
Funny how when the tables are turned, and someone mentions that Bonnaroo is starting to look too much like Coachella, somebody always steps in to tell that person to go to Rothbury if they don't like it. I suppose if I was that kind of jerkoff I would now tell you to go to Coachella.
But I'm not that kind of jerkoff, I'm a completely different kind of jerkoff, so I won't say that.
You really shouldn't be saying that RothandRoo sucks though. Besides that kind of thing being against the rules of this board, it's also not very nice.
Saying someone sucks is hardly something to get excited about, and I hardly mean, he, as a person, sucks. I was just turning the tables on him because he was commenting on something which I don't think he knows a lot about, or is blatant Bonnaroo homer-ism.
Also I think a majority of the board would love to see a bunch of the acts listed in that thread, so when you say something like "if Bonnaroo's best of looks like Coachella's stick a fork in it" it's going to get a negative reaction against you. Honestly, what do you think was wrong with those lists?
i envy coachella because of this list(and this is just from the ones mentioned in that thread): paul mccartney roger waters prince portishead pixies ratm daft punk the cure bjork massive attack jane's addiction qotsa mogwai

I don't care about your negative reaction to me. Actually, I didn't mention or even notice you had said anything negative in response to my posts. I was responding to you calling someone names for voicing their opinion. Like I said, not very nice.
As for turning the tables, you'll notice that nobody said sangreal sucks for saying, "man, looking at that list makes it obvious that coachella is better. at least as far as headliners go, there is no question."
Looking at those lists, sure there's a couple of bands on each list that would excite me, but if those are the best sets they've had, I'm glad I've never been to Coachella.
08 or 09? I saw the 08 set and it was surprisingly very good... have heard that 09 wasn't quite as good for one reason or another.
I missed the 08 show. I liked the 09 show myself. I was outside the tent and it sounded fine to me and it was a fun atmosphere where I was in the crowd. Only ting bad about it was missing a bit of NIN to go over there.

Are you really that offended that I said someone sucks? It was barely an insult.
Also so I'm not spamming the thread, only been the past two years. NIN would have been higher if I didn't injure myself earlier in the day and could barely stand.
1. My Morning Jacket 08 2. Pearl Jam 08 3. Phoenix 09 4. Grizzly Bear 09 5. The Raconteurs 08 6. Wilco 09 7. Bruce Springsteen 09 8. Dirty Projectors 09 9. Andrew Bird 09 10. MGMT 08

I just pointed out -- as an aside in a post -- that it's not very nice to call someone names because they have a different opinion about a festival than you, and I wouldn't have thought about it again if you hadn't brought it up again. So no, I'm not that offended. I understand this is the Internet, and that in that context saying someone sucks is a very mild insult. But do we really need longstanding members of the board bringing unprovoked personal insults into the music threads? I don't have to be all that offended to point out that's not very nice.
Ive only got the last three years to go on so I'll just give a top 5
1. Nine Inch Nails (09) 2. The Flaming Lips (07) 3. Tool (07) 4. The Mars Volta (09) 5. My Morning Jacket (08) *I regret so badly not sticking out all of the set*

man, looking at that list makes it obvious that coachella is better. at least as far as headliners go, there is no question.
No question? I'll have to disagree and say that Bonnaroo takes the cake for best sets. Roger Waters and Daft Punk are to Coachella's credit, but I'd rather have seen these nine acts that I've experienced at bonnaroo than to have rather seen that coachella list.... and I'm not even getting into special guest apperances

phish, tom petty and wilco? are the only ones on your list that haven't played coachella.
