Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
In light of rampant wishing and hoping and speculating here in the Troo Music Lounge. I thought I'd create a thread to discuss any or all bands that we'd like/hope that they wind up playing Roo this year. I apologize if your thread got locked, it's nothing personal....or is it? Feel free to post threads about a specific artist if you have good info to back up your claim. We just don't want the TML forum to read like a giant long wish list made of individual threads. Thank you kindly.
I'll start. I really hope Arcade Fire plays this year because they are great and they have never played before and I like them alot.

some of those are a bit more realistic than others, but its a more current and relevant version of a wishlist.
And wow, you're like a walking, talking infomercial to turn people away from Pearl Jam and Ohio State, aren't you? Before you started posting here I quite liked Pearl Jam and was indifferent towards OSU, now I find myself wishing that Eddie Vedder falls down a mine shaft or that Columbus is infested with locusts

arcade fire flaming lips furthur my morning jacket string cheese incident
after seeing who we believe is headlining, i need some music i like at the top of the lineup. the headliner's i'm most excited to see are dave and pretty much only him. and i've seen him nearly 30 times, but not since 08. after leroi passed, part of me died with that band. i'll still be going to roo, i hate when i'm not there (that week sucks bad) so i just hope the undercard fits my tastes. no way it beats last year for me though. all my favs were there.

Not to knock LeRoi but he just doesn't compare with Jeff Coffin who is often described as a virtuoso. The shows that I've seen in the last two years have trumped any show Ive seen prior to LeRoi's death with one exception in Nashville when Bela and all of the Flecktones sat in.
My picks for this year would be Arcade Fire MMJ and everyone in MOF
A Thieve's Parade 2/24 Conspirator 2/26 Kevin Smith 3/11 Keller 3/17 Papadosio 3/18 JJ Grey 3/25 Bela Fleck/Edgar Meyer 3/26 Toubab Krewe 3/27 O'Death 4/11 Budos Band 4/22 EOTO 4/28 Summer Camp 5/6-29 All Good

^ i like coffin, and he's the best replacement for roy, i think roy would've wanted it that way, but it still feels kind of wrong to me
and i'd like to have butch back. i think the band sounded so much better with a full time pianist. everything i've heard in the past couple years sounds as if they've lost that jazz sound and taken on a hard rock sound. a lot of that has to do with tim, and while i love tim also, i'm just craving and missing that sound from the early 00's. for a long time they were my favorite band. not so much anymore.

Black Mountain Portugal. The man Ghostland Observatory K'naan A MARLEY Damien would be nice again or Stephen RATM The Roots Yeasayer (i know they were there last year, and I saw them....but the vodka kicked in and I cannot remember any thing of the show...I do remember it was pretty good) The Duke Spirit Outkast would be awesome too
As my Inebriated buddy walks out of the Porto, he yells out, "Dude...I love this place...bonnaroo thinks about everything...they even put beer holders next to the toilet!"
Had to break it to him that that was the urnal. Good times good times!
I grew up worshipping Rock and Roll like a religion. I know its shortcomings and strengths but have loved it unconditionally all the same since I was eight-years old. I ran away and joined the circus and honestly, I'm still as obsessed as I was as a boy. I'm not a kid anymore but I still remember how it felt and it doesn't really feel all that different to me now.

We should transform this into a discussion thread about the music of bands that are a possibility. Like we kinda did with KOL, NMH, Spoon, and Vampire Weekend. Oh and Contra is still not that good

Well I'll hit ya back on that - I never liked Vampire Weekend's first album that much but I'm loving Contra so far. Really catchy, really enjoyable, a little bit different, but I really enjoy almost every track.
