he could just be talking about lost because the premier comes on feb 2nd, the same day the lineup comes out. that's going to be the greatest day ever.
i hope it means tenacious d, but i think it means steve martin. i really don't see how it could be anyone else...considering we already know steve martin is going to be there, this is as solved as its going to get until he tells us.
There was Rowan and Martin's Laugh-In comedy show from the '60s. But, hasn't Steve Martin been eliminated? Then there's Demitri Martin; both a comedian and actor in "Taking Woodstock." But, he's been crossed-out too, right?
Have both of them been mentioned? Laugh-In would end with Dan Rowan asking D(i)ck Martin to, "Say goodnight D(i)ck." And, D(i)ck Martin would reply, "Goodnight D(i)ck"
If both Martins are scheduled is that a new guess?

The "Tommy. Can you hear me" could mean The Who. They've been mentioned on the board before. Also there are only 2 surviving members. Rockin' could also be a Ben Folds "Rockin' The Suburbs" reference. He's played down on the farm a few times.

Okay the more I think about it, the more I like the Steve Martin and Demetri Martin answer; it fits perfectly. And at least that would explain why they'd be combined into one clue! The other guesses that have been floating around recently are all sort of equally possible, the double Martins are the only thing that makes any one guess seem more valid than another, at least as far as I can see. For the moment, I'm pretty convinced it must be right.

I'm with ya...this one is looking better and better. I am hoping that Steve Martin does a little comedy appearance or something, at least, but I'm still excited to see his band.

As his tour has gone on and on- more comedy has found it's way into his regular show. It's a great act.
DISCLAIMER: This is no way speaks to the clue, etc.. Just thought you fans of comedy would want to know.

What is this mess?? The "Play Tiddlywinks with Rachierach's EMOTIONS Show?!?"
I'm going to bed.
...probably. But I'll probably keep obsessing over clues. Haha!
I have found the most links to one of the Acts being Flight of the Conchords for these reasons:
DJJD: Trying to tie Lost into this clue in my head right now. I had this dream than ben and locke went down the hatch- come out a year later as a Smothers Brothers Tribute act. Ben being the straight guy- Locke being Tommy. Can you hear me?
1) The Smothers Brothers are an American double act, consisting of the brothers Thomas ("Tom") and Richard ("Dick"). The brothers' trademark act was performing folk songs (Tommy on acoustic guitar, Dick on string bass), which usually led to arguments between the siblings.
DJJD: djjdfarmhound: "I've said too much, I haven't Zed enough." (this tweet was later deleted)
2) Zed (band), a pop-rock group from New Zealand.
Any help tying Bret and Jermaine to LOST would be great....
And is the youtube video an easy clue to Steve Martin or a redherring?

tweets from earlier today: Steve Martin one half of a clue answer! 4. Two acts with chops in one clue, one is rockin, both are lockin/lachen. Steve is great- but not rockin- who is it? TENACIOUS D is the other half for Steve Martin
So Steve Martin (and the Steep Canyon Rangers) and Tenacious D are the answers to this clue! Good work, those of you who picked those two!
