I don't think I've seen anyone mention this so I'll throw it out there.
I took the ART out of Tom and Jerry and I came up with OMNDJEY. I took out both R's because... I dunno, to me it just seems silly that everyone was leaving one in for some reason.
Anyway, when I see OMNDJEY I think of Almond Joy. So I did a little research (As in... I looked at Wikipedia) and saw these things about Almond Joy that pertains to music:
The advertising slogan "sometimes you feel like a nut, sometimes you don't" was featured in the funk/dance song "Wide Receiver" by Michael Henderson. The song "Chocolate Jesus" by Tom Waits (on the album Mule Variations) mentions Almond Joy And the most interesting one to me... One of the Allman Brothers early band names was the Allman Joys.
I'm not sure of The Allman Brothers has been guessed in this thread yet, but if not, that's a pretty good fit for the clue, and it matches his comment of correct guesses for the wrong clues, because I know Allman Brothers have been guessed -somewhere-!
Anyway, my two cents! :-D
Good guess. Maybe that prize he was talking about was an almond joy
If he meant Statesboro Blues (by "SB"), then no--that was Duane Allman. BUT if he meant their anthology, Stand Back, then the answer might be yes....but I don't know. Help me peoples!!

ACTUALLY, The band performed this(Statesboro Blues) at Duane Allman's funeral, with Dickey Betts playing Duane's guitar.
After Duane's death, Betts played the slide guitar on this at concerts. He was reluctant to do so because he did not want to compete with Allman's legend.

So either way, I think this is a lock!!!!
EDIT: Your fast monkeyroo! lol
That ACTUALLY in all caps just made me laugh...real hard. Ha!
I'm pretty excited and hopeful that DJJD had this in mind. I don't wanna get my hopes up too much, though.

I assume fx3 is referring to the "Fillmore, Fillmore, Fillmore..." post but I have no idea what that means. I take it it somehow means the Allman Brothers are not the answer but beyond that, no idea. Someone want to enlighten me and notdarkyet? ;D
I heard a rumor someone is saying deadmau5 for this clue? Can someone point me to this logic or has it been ruled out?
From the lack of confirmation from Djjd, and his pointing in another direction. The logic of that choice was without art, Jerry would have little chance of escape from Tom. He'd be a deadmau5.

The Allmans Fillmore concert was in NY, so good chance the other corner is SF (Fillmore West). Obviously, the Grateful Dead were a big part of that. Furthur is them without Jerry, and the drummers.
I have the Fillmore Last Days DVD at home. Maybe I'll flip through it. But tons of bands have played the Fillmore West. It doesn't help a ton...
Has any one mentioned Modest Mouse for #8. One of the band members is Tom Peloso. And add the mouse and there it is.. At least I hope. It would be great to see them at the farm.. ~m~
