I really feel like I've done a stupid thing by not buying my early bird ticket this year. I am starting to wonder based on lineup rumors such as Roger Waters and Jay Z that this year it could possibly sellout the first day. I know as far as early bird tickets go that they were already up to the 2nd tier by the time the sale ended. I just didn't have the money at the time to get one. All I know is that I will be crushed if I don't get a ticket and my summer will be ruined. I've been every year since 2006 and with it being my 5th one I am especially looking forward to it. Is anyone else worried or concerned about not having bought their ticket yet?

Won't sell out, probably at all. "times are hard" as they say.
Plus, if you do get shut out of the official ticket sale, the last month before the festival, there will be a ton of people dying to get rid of their tickets becuase something came up and they can't go anymore. I'd guarantee that. Almost scored a ticket two tickets for $200 total that way, but it was already only a couple days before the fest at that point and I had already moved on. Plus plane tickets would have been nearly a grand that close to the event. Some things to consider...

They'd have to have something that is once in a lifetime for it so sell out in the first day. Something along the lines of two beatles, three led zeps, and three floyds. I wouldn't worry about it at all. No show is ever really sold out if you know the right people.

I wouldn't worry about missing out. I believe there is a decent chance of a sellout if waters, jay-z, and neil are all on the farm, but with the economy still down for most of us and by looking at the attendance trends over the past few years I wouldn't be worried about a sellout, maybe until the weeks leading up to the festival.

it wont sell out... especially if dave is closing out the fest, nothing against the guy, i just dont see him being a reason for a sell out. and I dont think that superfly is gona get two other headliners to make it be a sell out

We were concerned about a sell out last year and actually bought an extra pair of tix for friends. They didn't come and we sold them for face value. Don't worry, most of the world doesn't plan 4 months ahead for a fest, just us 'roo junkies

I got shut out in 03. I had bought a ticket for the Northeast Roo and then when it cancelled it was too late to get one in Manchester. 04 sold out as well. Plus, the fact that I don't have a ticket yet makes me pull for a stellar line up a little less : )

4 months?!?! I start planning for the next year as I leave the Farm!
I'm like Daniroo (no implied similarity by our names). I generally just plan on goin' every year. i had a conversation with my ma before 'Roo last year where she said, "So can I expect you to be unavailable every year in the middle of June?" My answer was a definitive "Yup!" Bonnaroo is my vacation to myself once a year. I will work my ass off in my shit waitin' tables job all year to make 'Roo happen. No matter what happens durin' the year as long as I know I can go to Bonnaroo it will still be a great year fer me.
^I think one year had close to 90-100k, maybe 04 or 05.
04 was my first year. I think they actually sold around 80k but they estimated 90-100k people were on the farm. I met loads of people who snuck in. Man, was it crowded that year.

I will never again buy a ticket until a week before the fest. There are always plenty of tickets for sale for below ticket price. I paid $150 2 years ago and $175 last year. If for some odd reason Bonnaroo does sell out, then I may have to pay face value (including fees), but I think that the odds are good that that will not happen.
I can't wait to have my ticket paid for. I am buying it next Thursday (payday). Not worried about the lineup. I know Roo will never be weak top & bottom. Missing last year sucked and I am ready already

Even if they DID sell out before you got a ticket, there are always ones on eBay and Craigslist....my friend got one for only 180 like the week before on a last minute decision to go....I'm a sucker and get one right away every year. Whenever I check later on I kick myself for not waiting to get a cheaper one from someone who isn't going and is scared that they aren't going to be able to sell the ticket. You will make it to ROOOOOO!!!!!!!!!
Here is the quote from Ashley Capps from a interview with Consequence of Sound "We ended up selling an extraordinary number of tickets, like 60,000 tickets. We had to stop because we hadn’t even really done our organizational work yet for the site yet to be comfortable with how many people we could accommodate. So we initially stopped when we sold 60,000 tickets in less than three weeks, which at that particular point in festival world was unheard of in the United States."
I do not think that will happen this year, they might say "sold out" in the middle to end of May so they can complete the ticket filings.
If you think they might then purchase your tickets as soon as they go on sale !!

If I'm not mistaken 2002-2004 sold out offically. 2005 didn't. 2006-2007 did. and then 2008-2009 didn't. I'm pretty sure they sold tickets in Manchester at a "box office" the years it didn't sell out. The other times ppl just got them from e-bay and craigslist. As an interesting side note, my first year of Roo (2004) my girlfriend and I got offered $1000 for our tix before we even left North Carolina while we were stuck in traffice by a couple of hippies w/o tix lol. So I'd say that's the only year for sure it was SOLD OUT.
