MPP GA. See you all there!
A bunch of us on the MMJ forum are planning a big tailgate before the show, and I hope you all join us. We're trying to think of a way to raise some money for charity at the tailgate, too...if anyone has any ideas, please feel free to PM me (or join us in planning over on the MMJ board!).
Was thinking maybe we could set up tailgating games (bags, washers, etc.) and charge $1 to play, with all proceeds going to charity? Any handy folks want to paint a set of Jacket bags boards we could raffle off at the end of the day?
One day, early in February i realized that i hadnt seen MMJ since NYE at MSG a little over a year ago, and that i really need to see them soon. I had no knowledge of tour rumors, so i checked it out and saw the spring tour! The next week i got my tax return, the week after that i reserved a room at the Sheraton, about a mile from the Merriweather Post Pavilion, and a week after that i bought some tickets. Now, i just have to wait till May 1. Not too fast though, 16 days after that ill be 29. Wow

I'm hoping for more tour dates. All my MMJ plans have been ruined. I need some northeast love for the summer. Petty tickets are too expensive for me at this point.

^^this.
For a rock legend like Petty, I can't imagine the tickets will be less than $100 - and I don't really care for Petty, so I'd be paying a hundred bucks for about an hour of MMJ, which I really just can't justify. That's like the price rate for a psychiatrist, or a hooker!

I just found out MMJ was going to be playing in Saint Augustine. I'm so there. I've only been to that venue once and they didn't search at all but there also wasn't a lot of corn in the air either. I imagine that it is about like most outdoor venues when MMJ is around.
I scored one of only 100 tickets available for MMJ's performance with Preservation Hall Jazz Band -- AT PRESERVATION HALL -- at midnight on 4/24. That'll be the same day I see their Jazz Fest set, and the day before I watch Jim (and Terence Blanchard) perform with them on Sunday. The following week, MMJ @ Merriweather Post Pavilion. Woot!
I got lucky. Rumor is that only 60 of the tix were actually for sale and I happened to be on another board when it got announced. I'll be seeing them at Sasquatch as well. Figured I'd squeeze in as many festival appearances as I can since I won't be able to follow them around like I did in 2008
if any of you post on the mmj board, i still have my ticket that i need to sell. baffled that i have had it on ebay for over a month with no bidders. anyway, i just registered for the mmj board, just to post about it. i'm sure that is frowned upon. but if some of you could go on there and give me a reference or whatever. i really need to sell the ticket. thanks.
