Anyone know what the chances are or when/if/whatever a real Saturday night headliner will be added? All respect to Stevie, but he should be playing the 6 pm slot.
I'm betting that if no one else is added at the top of the bill, then it will be Stevie Wonder at 7, followed by Jay-Z at around 10. Kind of like Beasties and Phish last year.

didn't happen... " SuperflyGroup- Stevie Wonder headlines bonnaroo What Stage on Sat. 06/12 followed by @jayz late-night! Not enough? @conanobrien will be MC'ing!"
Just came across a bunch of Daryl Hall/Chromeo videos on youtube that I thought people might like to check out. Apparently they did a whole shoot at Daryl's house. I had no idea what this combo would be like but am now really excited! (sorry about the ads that are coming up. I guess its part of the Youtube embed function)
This one starts with a little tour, mainly focusing on Daryl's sweet indoor pool (I guess he restores old houses now?!?! Who knew?) then into Chromeo's "Tenderoni"
This is the DH/Chromeo version of "No Can Do"

i think people couldnt give a shit about how many shows KoL do this year, the bigger issue is that Stevie Wonder has two american dates, one in california and Bonnaroo
I don't understand how KoL gets so much grief for being a once somewhat rocking band that sold out, whereas Weezer gets a free pass despite having always been a complete sellout band that now even fails at that.

They're both terrible at this point, but Weezer at least had two great albums.
Ok, I'm calmed down now. I just looked at the schedule thread and am aghast at the prospect of Weezer on the What ruining my Stevie pit line experience. I understand now, brewboss is destined to endure many hardships before reaching the promised land.

weezer's crappy sellout albums have been way better than KoL's, but the reason (imo) they don't get much shit is that they don't take themselves seriously at all

Here is a crazy thought...with all this backlash over KOL headlining, do you think this will somehow hurt MMJ's chances of headlining in the near future? Seems to me this very well could happen.
I like MMj and I'm not comparing the two....just think this might not be the best situation fro them in the headlining future.

If anything, the backlash over KOL headlining should make MMJ headlining even more likely since it's almost universally accepted that they are a better band as well as Bonnaroo veterans who have created amazing moments for the festival in the past.
I think next year Roo will be Neil Young and MMJ as headliners. Don't know of a third yet.

I am beginning to think AC/Superfly hates Daft Punk. They obviously are the Electronica act that has needed to play Bonnaroo for years now. My only fear is that they wait too long (ala Oakenfold) to add them to the lineup.

I understand they are better, but they too worked there way up at Bonnaroo like KOL. They may never let you "work your way up" again after this year with all the backlash.

If they don't continue promoting bands who have grown over time and are now worthy of a headlining spot then we're bound to have different combinations of WSP, DMB, and whatever classic rock act is reuniting/touring that year.
I feel like bands like MMJ are ready to be promoted to headliner. I'd like to see Wilco in a few years but don't know how accepted that would be.
But I don't think they'll stop "promoting" bands just because of KOL backlash. I think they wanted KOL to play and KOL forced their hand by saying something like "we headline or don't play". So they play it off in the media like it was always a plan to "grow" the band when really I think Roo is just trying to take some credit for KOL rise in popularity.

They already got them for Vegoose. I think it just never worked out with Bonnaroo when they were touring a couple years ago. They should be a top priority next time they back on the road, which might be next year.
Roger Waters Performing 'The Wall' Neil Young & Crazy Horse My Morning Jacket Daft Punk String Cheese Incident
With Neil headlining Friday, Waters on Saturday, and MMJ on Sunday with Daft Punk late-night for Friday and SCI late-night for Saturday. Apparently Waters is looking to take the Wall on the road toward the end of the year, so maybe next year is more likely.
A Thieve's Parade 2/24 Conspirator 2/26 Kevin Smith 3/11 Keller 3/17 Papadosio 3/18 JJ Grey 3/25 Bela Fleck/Edgar Meyer 3/26 Toubab Krewe 3/27 O'Death 4/11 Budos Band 4/22 EOTO 4/28 Summer Camp 5/6-29 All Good
IF Neil and Daft Punk headline 2011, dare I say it'll be the best year for Bonnaroo, and would shift the festival/promoters back into favor here on this board.

Emoney serves more of a purpose than any of you, especially Nate, whose incessant, garbled ramblings are so mindless and pointless that I get depressed just seeing them.

With the news of Roo trying to get Neil this year but not working out I feel like they HAVE to be doing all they can to lock him in for 2011.
I feel like MMJ will headline since it's the 10th anniversary of Roo and who personifies Roo more than MMJ? Les maybe but he's not going to headline (solo anyway).
I wouldn't even need to know who else would be there - those three alone would be more than worth the cost of admission. Dream headliners!
None of these bands seem too unrealistic, but Radiohead does seem like the long shot out of these three. Five years is plenty of time, though - bring 'em back, Superfly!
