I want them in a tent as well, but I have to say they handled the main stage well at coachella. They relished the chance to be up there and they played like a headliner. "All My Friends" and "Yeah" were massive, and there was something special about seeing them play the big stage.
I'm really looking forward to them getting a full set though, I didn't get to hear Tribulations, DPIPAMH, Dance Yrself Clean, or You Wanted a Hit, hoping they play all of those in a two hour set at Bonnaroo.
Why would you want them on the big stage? I hope they are in a tent.
Only because I think they could draw a big crowd, bigger than the tents can handle. I tried to see MGMT and Girl Talk last year and could not get anywhere close enough to enjoy their sets. In fact, Girl Talk got a little scary with the crowd size and mayhem.
I don't expect them to be on the What or Which stages, just thinking it would be cool. When LCD gets a tent, I'll get there early this time.

My guess is they will be opposite the Flaming Lips DSOTM thing, big conflicts for some, but not me.

Once again, if you get to the tent like 30 minutes before their set starts (I'll probably go earlier because I'll be skipping KOL) you won't have a problem getting in the tent, possibly even getting a great spot. Just don't go as the set is just starting and you will be fine.
Probably 20 for me. Suffering from my usual "play the album to death" syndrome. Really digging it for its consistency. Lots of songs are growing on me. Can't say I dislike anything on the album, and have at least 5 favorite tracks! Not bad for a 9 song album.
New album sounds excellent. Broken Social Scene is taking up most of my time, but I squeeze TIH in there. Really bummed I'll miss them at Roo this year.
NPR All Songs Considered review of "This Is Happening":
"Regardless of what he does after this album, Murphy leaves behind a brief but remarkable legacy. If This Is Happening truly is his final statement as LCD Soundsystem, it's an exquisite swan song worthy of repeat listening. If it's not, even better."

First post ya'll! And also my first Roo, and there is no doubt about it that LCD is my most anticipated of the fest. I considered them top 5 for the weekend until I heard the new album, and was subsequently blown away. How epic is 'Dance Yrself Clean' gonna be? Also hoping for 'you wanted a hit', 'watch the tapes', and 'new york I love you but you're bringing me down' to go along with all the other perrenial favorites.

Great first post!
I was totally confused for a minute. ??? ClarkGriswold is a long time member. clarkgriswald is new.
BTW, "Griswold" is the correct spelling for the character in the National Lampoon movies.
Welcome clarkgriswald and have a Coco for making me think!

looking at the most recent setlists from their tour, it looks like they only new song they've added is "all i want", along with "pow pow", "drunk girls", and "i can change". i'd really love to hear "dance yrself clean" and i hope they play it - i dunno, we'll see.
it's possible they'll add one or two more songs from TIH as the tour goes along, but i can also kinda understand if they stick to pow pow/drunk girls/i can change/all i want. those are the ones that probably work best live and to an unfamiliar audience.
on the intriguing side, they seem intent on making "yr city's a sucker" a staple on tour. HAHAHAHA HAHAHAHA
Swap out "Drunk Girls" for "Dance Yrself Clean" and I'd be perfectly content.
Haven't seen the setlists? Are they playing "Home" at all? Everything else on TIH hit me right away, but "Home" seems to be the grower on the album for me. I look forward to it every time I listen to the album. Would be a great show closer. Is definitely is in my top 10 album closers, along with:
- "Radio Radio, Elvis Costello", This Year's Model (US) - "New York I Love You", LCD Soundsystem, Sound of Silver - "EMI", Sex Pistols, Never Mind the Bollocks - "Answering Machine", Replacements, Let It Be - "Street Spirit", Radiohead, The Bends - "The Late Greats", Wilco, A Ghost Is Born - "Here Comes a Regular", Replacements, Tim - "This Must Be The Place", Talking Heads, Speaking in Tongues - "Get Back", Beatles, Let it Be
