give it to acuna, 30 and 60 is nuts and it's not impossible that he ends up pushing 40/70
Betts has been so valuable defensively tho, and has played top tier D at multiple positions (RF, CF, 2B, SS) which is unheard of. Higher offensive numbers as well by a decent margin, including OPS and wRC+. Also, with the rule changes this year, SB are way up. Not saying SB aren't valuable but they shouldn't hold as much weight as they did previously.
Either way, still another month left in the season to determine it. We'll see who can keep it up. I wouldn't count out Freeman either. He's capable of going on a tear.
yeah but there's an argument mookie isn't even the best player on his team, like you said. (though Olsen could potentially get a vote or two also) I think it's just more likely that Betts and Freeman split LA leaning votes and Acuna should get more

I love the new playoff format including the three wild cards. Both races are so fun right now. 4 teams separated by 1 game vying for 2 spots in the NL and three teams essentially tied for the last two spots in the AL. Awesome

Taking my dad to Wrigley tonight and tomorrow night. His first time. We waited until the BUCS were there. Hopefully we see a better effort than last night.

The race is cool for fans, especially of the those teams. I still personally hate the expanded playoffs cause it's really a disservice to the teams that dominate the 162 game season. Post season is such a crap shoot, some team barely over .500 can knock off a team that's won 110 games in the division series.

yeah but the AL central division winner has a shot at being under .500, a better team will make the playoffs with a chance to beat them, that's good.

Division issues suck too. Not sure there's a way around a poor division winner at least making the playoffs but I do think they should re-seed based on record. I'd be all for a WC team with a better record having home field over a poor division winner.
I just think there's a devaluing of the regular season when you add too many teams. And I've mentioned this before, but MLB is one sport where the bye could be more harm then good, so these teams that have been great all year don't have a lot of advantages come post season.

Did anyone see what happened in the Mets-Marlins game?
Long story short: The game is suspended with 2 outs in the top of the 9th (Road team, Marlins, are ahead 2-1). If it matters for the playoffs, the game will resume Monday.
Insane. Potentially one half inning of baseball for the whole season.

Nah, Bucs are going to get purposely swept by the Fish just to keep the Cubs out of the playoffs.

Man, RIP Tim Wakefield. He was a huge contributor as a rookie to the Pirates 1992 NL East Champs. Face Tom Glavine in the NLCS twice and won both starts, tossing complete games.

Oh shit. RIP. I think he was making appearances on Red Sox TV earlier this year too.
He was in Boston for a bunch of years. Started, reliever, closer. Did everything. Won a couple WS. Seemed like a good guy. Fuck cancer.
