O's clinch a playoff spot. Now time to win the AL East.
This will be pretty interesting if the O's and Yankees stay tied. A one-game playoff where the loser goes to a one-game playoff. That will be a pretty important playoff game.

Need to clarify my post from the last page. Trout would be a fine recipient, didn't mean to say he wouldn't be. But Cabrera also deserves to the MVP win and will.
It's a shame Jim Johnson had such a bad July or he might get some Cy Young votes, WHIP of .55 in May, .75 in June and .38 in August. Just got killed when he was having problems with his mechanics in July. Still 50+ saves is epic.
RA has more innings (227 TO 199), K's (222 TO 207), less BB's (54 TO 76), lower ERA (2.69 TO 2.89), lower WHIP (1.05 TO 1.13), 1 less win and 2 less losses (and pitches against the Marlins this week in the Battle For The Basement - FEEL THE EXCITEMENT!!!).
The only real argument is the "good team/bad team" argument, but shouldn't RA pitching on a AAA team for 4 months actually help his cause?

Tricky Dickey!!! One time!!
Yeah, he should be a lock honestly, but the choices made don't always make sense. Just look at the poor defensive players who win gold gloves year after year based on reputation alone.
Haha, 3 years in a row the Rangers choke at the end of the year. Yes, I realize they are going to end up as the wild card, but they have had 2 head to head series to finish off the A's.
Maybe they are all mentally fragile like their "star"

You do realize if there was a 2nd Wildcard in 2007 I wouldn't have been forced to sit and watch the 3rd worst collapse in history (ha ha! Suck it Boston & Philly!....sigh).
Congrats to the A's, it is pretty much impossible not to root for them. Unless you're a Rangers fan, obviously.
It's days like this I wish Nolan Ryan still had Robin Ventura in a headlock, throwing an endless array of heaters to the poor lad's dome. But that will never happen again now will it....

I spent game 162 in an Atlanta bar last year and almost everyone there was a Braves or Red Sox fan. I dislike both teams, so I bet against both of them. So much money was made....
