I will totally take grasp of this situation. I like to camp in the shade and there's only a few sites with good shade. Green Acres is one and last time I camped there for the dead, the owners had medical tanks.
Closeby is decent but you've got to get there early to get a good spot. They have talent contests during the day, usually just dudes with acoustics. Free spaghetti after the show, plus they have a shuttle for like $2.
I'll concoct a list this week with prices, pros, and cons of each site. Camp InfoCreek in effect. Of course, it is about 4 months away. Pretty much all of the camp sites are awesome except for Verizon's. It's about as bad as Roo. No shade in the middle of a field patrolled by security.

That sounds like a great idea to me! I've never been to Deer Creek and I'm not sure my friend has since high school, so your suggestions are totally welcome!
You could have gone last year, but you sold your ticket to that wook at the inforoo brunch.
Opens Sunday, August 8th at 8am. Melts Wednesday, August 11 at noon.
Free shuttle to & from Chocoslovakia
Tent Camping only, except in Ice Cream Harbor, where Cone Camping is allowed.
Camping is sold per person not per site. If Lord Licorice and Queen Frostine camp together, they must pay two fees.
No vehicles allowed in the forest. That means you, Mr. Mint.
Access to the Butterscotch Showers via the free shuttle.
Follow the signs directing you to Peanut Brittle Pass. Once you have unloaded your camping gear, a Gingerbread Staff Member will allow you to feast on his moist, delicious flesh.

;D
Haha - I basically pulled the exact same lotto results last year - minus that newly minted night two for Deer Creek this year. Of course, the Roo announcement sealed my midwestern trip for the summer.

My scores: 2 lawns in Charlotte 2 lawns in Raleigh 2 section 105 row S in ATL #1 2 section 102 row S in ATL #2 2 GA - Portsmouth 2 section 101 row E in ATL #1 2 GA PIT! in ATL #2
The only thing that I was denied was my 2 Telluride tix. Lucky, I know but not TOO lucky, considering that I was shut out of Hampton, Summer 09 legs 1 and 2!, and Miami. Lottery finally pulled through for me. Abraham Lincoln, Jimi Hendrix, and Mimi Fishman are somewhere up there smiling on us.

Here's some camping info for Deer Creek
Whatever you do, do not camp in the Verizon Wireless Camp, it's awful, close but awful.
Closeby Campground $50 per person for three nights $40 per person for two nights $1 shuttle service (2 buses, always a fun ride) Talent show during the day Usually free spaghetti after show Definitely farther than ¼ mile to the venue, but still walkable If you get there early, you may get a nice shaded spot. This is where I have camped most. www.closebycampground.com/
Sleep Bear Campground .4 miles from venue but you have to walk all the way around for lot scene $60 per person for two nights $80 for three nights They advertise “No Hassle attitude” I don’t think I’ve ever camped here before but I think Jess said he has www.sleepybearcampground.com/
Green Acres Campground 5.5 miles from venue, no shuttle Check in at noon August 11 Check out at noon August 14 $50.00 per person I can’t remember much about this place other than it’s wooded, secluded, and the land owners were also gas vendors. I camped there years ago for the dead and it was nice, but you have to drive to the show www.greenacrescamping.com/
Dead Creek Campground/Timber Ho 1.3 miles from venue, shuttle 3 day camping $60 per person 2 day camping $50 per person It’s pretty laid back but it’s just a big field Shuttle service Camp fires are ok to have on site www.deadcreekcamp.com/

Sleepy Bear is already full, and they are shuttling over to second best, which is ok it is about a 1 mile walk but shaded camping.

Jess, Sleepy Bear has an alternate site? Do we still register at Sleepy Bear? I think I may do Closeby again just because it's only $60 for three nights vs $80 at sleepy bear. What do you think? I'm actually not too picky. They're all great camps.

I'd totally be up for Closeby. Sounds like the best bet at this point.

Closeby or second best, are the best options whichever you guys like.
