It may have been -- I'm just going by the setlist on phish.net and they may have gotten the title wrong.
You're right, it is cool to see Phish bust out rare covers like that. One of the cool things about Phish is listening for the sounds of their influences. You can definitely hear Malkmus, Byrne, and lots of other non-hippie types in Phish if you tune your ears just right.

thats awesome! glad to see phish covering neutral milk hotel. some interesting notes about trey's music taste: i saw an interview with high times where trey said that slayer's reign in blood was one of his favorite albums. his itunes celebrity playlist includes arcade fire and bob dylan. he once said tool was one of his favorite bands (can't remember where i read this). phish used to do jazz gigs playing standards out of the real book when they started. trey has played with jay-z, neil young, les claypool, even a full orchestra. i heard that oracular spectacular was on their list for possible halloween albums last year. This cover isn't too much of a surprise but it makes me happy for some reason.

Merriweather was just weird
Night 1 had an overwhelming sense of "meh". They opened the show with Crowd Control > Kill Devil Falls... I thought it was going to be the exact same show as last year they played there.
Other than that, the first set was pretty quality, and definitely had some highlights in Tube and TMWSIY, and the second set started off with the FIRE in a sick Rock & Roll > Free... but then they just decided to take all the energy out of the crowd and played a snoozer of a second set. I sat down shortly after Free and did not get up until the set ended. I left during the encore. As I was leaving I heard Good Times Bad Times... same encore as last time. Overall... average show with some good highlights but a lot of mediocre playing
Night 2 was an absolute rollercoaster. The first set looked sweet on paper, but it just wasn't coming together at all. Walfredo opener was sweet, but then they went into Mellow Mood and that just set the tempo for rest of the set. Divided Sky, take 2, was worst than when they just played it the night before. I think Trey was pissed he couldn't get it going the first night and wanted a second shot... and flubbed it yet again. The rest of the first set was just bad. I'm still convinced they punked us and it was just a Phish cover band playing.
Set 2 was what I effing live for. As soon as they opened with Wilson, I knew they were going to turn things around. Meatstick>Saw It Again>Piper (had to be 15+ minutes of pure epic jamz) >Ghost> Jumpin Jack Flash > Saw it Again was absurd. The YEM vocal jam also had a distinct "Saw it Again" theme to it. This set was possibly the best I have seen of Phish.
After enduring the worst timed road work all down I-95 to Richmond to get my car, I finally made it to Roanoke shortly after 6. I think I got maybe 30 minutes of on/off napping and I'm back at the grind at work, cracked out on god knows how many 5 hr energies at this point. It's brutal, but I swear to god I'd do it all again just to see Set 2 again.

^^Tweezer was pretty awesome.... I've almost gotten tired of hearing the song though, they seem to play it every time I see them these days. I was also frustrated at that point with the number of songs they repeated from the last MPP show and just wanted to hear something different.
I don't know why... but I had written down Divided Sky being played after Wolfman's Brother, but it looks like it was Slave. Not sure how I would've screwed that up... Guess I was just slightly 'tarded off the $8 beers at that point. Ahh well.

Yeah, I hear you, strum. I've made my share of setlist crossouts. That does suck to basically hear the same setlist for sure. Back in the day it would have been fine, but now that I get to see like 2 shows a year, I want different songs too. Check that Tweezer out again though -- it's a pretty quality jam.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I won two tickets to two nights of Phish in NC this weekend!
I am gifting the tickets for the Raleigh show to my younger brother (he is huge huge into them and is seeing them on the 4th in ATL as well), and then going to the Charlotte show on Friday night.
I am beyond excited. I have never seen Phish live outside of Bonnaroo. I am a bit of a new fan, but so. effing. stoked.
Wound up only going to Camden on the first night. It was a solid show. I thought the first set was better than the second. Went camping in VA this weekend instead of Phish. Really pissed I missed last night since we drove past Columbia on our way back to Philly on I-95. Had a good mind to tell my friend to drop me off. I should have.
If anyone has a extra 7/3 for face I would appreciate getting it for a friend of mine from grade school on who has never seen a show. He lives there and is going to drive us anyway but it would be a nice bonus for him.

So after listening to Night 2 Set 1 again I gotta say that it sounds a little better than what I was feeling while at the show, perhaps it was due to the sound not being at it's best in our location, or maybe I just wasn't craving the songs they chose to play at the time. Either way, there still seems to be a little bit of something missing from the set altogether, but there are definitely more highlights than I initially thought. My Soul got pretty rockin', and Trey didn't flub Bathtub Gin nearly as much as what it sounded like at the time. It still doesn't even compare to the second set though.
I'm still trying to figure out how I mistook a Slaves for Divided Sky. Either it was an absolutely terrible Slaves or realizing I could use a credit card at the beer stand had more consequences than I initially thought. /badphan'd
